Ryan Edwards and his estranged wife Mackenzie Edwards have been instructed to stay away from each other from now on.

One month after Mackenzie, 28, asked for legal protection against Ryan, 36, court documents obtained by The U.S. Sun on Tuesday, April 9 revealed that the order was dismissed and replaced with a mutual restraining order.

Court documents state that both parties are prohibited from approaching or contacting each other. They are also required by the mutual restraining order to refrain from contacting each other's employer or significant other.

In addition, Mackenzie, who recently deleted her Instagram account, is permitted to communicate only with Ryan's family regarding visitation with their children. The couple, who are currently estranged, have two kids together: Jagger, 5, and Stella, 4. (Ryan also has a 15-year-old son named Bentley with his ex Maci Bookout).

Ryan appeared in court on April 8 for a hearing, with his lawyer by his side. However, his girlfriend Amanda Connor and his parents, Jen and Larry Edwards, were not present.

After being married for six years, Mackenzie officially filed for divorce from Ryan in February 2023. In the divorce petition, the MTV star accused Ryan of "inappropriate marital conduct" and cited "irreconcilable differences" as reasons for the split.

However, the couple's divorce case was dismissed one year later due to lack of progress. According to court documents from The U.S. Sun, the court ruled to dismiss the case without prejudice and ordered the plaintiff to cover the costs.

Things started moving again last month when Ryan went through with the separation and officially filed for divorce.

Even though Ryan and Mackenzie's relationship may be more strained than before, his relationship with Bookout, who is 32 years old, seems to be on good terms.

During Easter weekend, Bookout and Ryan attended a family reunion with their son to celebrate the spring holiday.

Bookout shared with We exclusively on April 1 that Ryan is doing great. She mentioned that he is close to being a year sober, which is a significant milestone considering his past struggles with addiction. Bookout expressed her pride in Ryan's progress and dedication to his recovery journey.

Maci Bookout, the former 16 and Pregnant star, recently gave a positive update on Ryan's relationship with his oldest son, Bentley. She expressed feeling that they are in a really good place. Bookout emphasized the difference between hope and expectations, stating that while she remains hopeful every day, her expectations have changed over the past year. She also noted that Ryan is doing really well.
