Teen Mom star Mackenzie Edwards has responded to her estranged husband Ryan Edwards' recent comments suggesting she no longer wants to proceed with their divorce. In a post on Instagram on October 14, the 26-year-old shared a family photo with Ryan cropped out of the picture. The original image included the couple with their children, Mackenzie's son from a previous marriage, and their dog, but the edited version excluded Ryan and the dog. The post has since been removed.
A fan in the post's comments asked Mackenzie for her thoughts on Ryan's remarks about their divorce. (During the October 11 Teen Mom: The Next Chapter reunion, Ryan informed Dr. Drew Pinsky that he and Mackenzie were still in the process of divorcing, although he expressed uncertainty about her current wishes.)
The user stated on the photo, "MTV mentioned that you want Ryan back and that you refuse to sign the divorce papers. Is that true?" Mackenzie responded with a simple "No."
Two days later, Mackenzie proudly posted a photo of herself bending down and talking to her two youngest children, Jagger and Stella.
Mackenzie's return to social media follows the recent Teen Mom: The Next Chapter reunion, where her estranged husband's family and ex Maci Bookout expressed concerns about the potential negative influence Mackenzie could have on Ryan's sobriety. Ryan, who claimed to be "five months sober" during an interview with Dr. Drew, has been residing in a halfway house since late summer after serving time in jail for harassing Mackenzie.
Ryan’s mom, Jen Edwards, told Dr. Drew that Mackenzie’s visit to Ryan’s rehab facility in August was “very worrisome.”
Jen revealed her displeasure, stating that only patients should be allowed on the property. She also mentioned that Ryan faced consequences for breaching this rule. Dr. Drew expressed his concern regarding Mackenzie's understanding of Ryan's condition compared to his parents and Maci. He questioned whether they feared that Mackenzie could potentially jeopardize Ryan's sobriety.
Ryan's father, Larry Edwards, agreed with a nod, as Jen and Maci also nodded in agreement. (Maci and Ryan share a son named Bentley, who is 14 years old.)
In February, Mackenzie filed for divorce from Ryan after he was arrested for harassing her. During that time, he was also arrested for possessing drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. Following the arrest, Ryan faced two additional arrests: in March, he was arrested for stalking and violating Mackenzie's restraining order, and in April, he was arrested for possessing a controlled substance and driving under the influence after overdosing in his car. He was ultimately sentenced to almost a year in jail after pleading guilty to harassment. However, he served only a few months before being released to a rehabilitation facility and then a halfway house.
