Kailyn Lowry opened up about how her current pregnancy with twins has been worrying her.
After the 20-week anatomy scan for the twins, I found myself crying as we left," the 31-year-old Teen Mom 2 alum shared in a TikTok video on November 29. "The doctor reassured us that everything looked great and it was a huge relief, but it still made me emotional because you just never know what could happen."
"I have experienced extreme anxiety throughout this pregnancy, and I don't think it's a widely discussed topic," she explained. "I constantly worry about the chances of having healthy babies. This is my tenth pregnancy, and with the added risk of having twins and being considered obese, there are many factors at play."
The reality star, who is already a mother of 5, expressed that it was a relief to receive confirmation at the 20-week mark that everything was looking "ok" for her twins. During her appointment, she jokingly asked the doctor to double-check whether she and boyfriend Elijah Scott were really expecting twins, as it felt surreal to her given that twins are not common in her close family.
“The twins in my family are fraternal but they’re [my] second and third cousins. So I don’t think that they have anything to do with [me] like I think it’s their genetic thing,” she explained. “Elijah has twins in his family but it goes by the woman, not the man.”

Lowry received the news that she was expecting twins and was told that "everything is good." She announced in October that she and Scott were expecting twins, nearly one year after quietly welcoming her fifth baby. She has a son named Isaac, 13, with ex Jo Rivera, a son named Lincoln, 9, with ex-husband Javi Marroquin, and two sons, Lux, 6, and Creed, 3, with ex Chris Lopez. In July, Lowry also revealed that she had her first child with Scott, a son named Rio, in November 2022.
After sharing the news, the couple hosted a gender reveal party and initially thought they were having two boys. However, Lowry later realized that she had misread the paper and that she was actually expecting a boy and a girl instead.

During a TikTok video, she explained that if there were two boys, an XY chromosome would appear on the test. However, if it was two girls, there wouldn't be any indication. After receiving the test results, any XY chromosomes would lead to the assumption of both being boys, which she mistakenly did. Upon realizing the error, she posted another sex reveal video with the correct results, showing her sons discovering the gender of their future sibling.
