Jenelle Evans, former star of Teen Mom 2, has had her son Jace reported missing for the third time within two months. The police provided a statement to The Sun on Friday, September 29, stating that there have been no updates on the missing minor.
TMZ was the first to break the news about the 14-year-old's recent disappearance. According to the outlet, Evans, aged 31, informed the police that her eldest son made his escape through a window of their residence in North Carolina at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 28. It is reported that the teenager does not have his mobile phone with him.
Earlier on Thursday, Jenelle, who is also a mother to a 9-year-old son named Kaiser from her previous relationship with Nathan Griffith, and a 6-year-old daughter named Ensley with her current husband David Eason, shared a sequence of family photographs on Instagram.
"Sharing a collection of photos from our #FallBreak trip to the mountains with the kids," she wrote alongside the pictures, which featured a selfie with Jace.
After Evans was awarded custody of her eldest child in March, Jace had run away twice in August, as we reported earlier. (Jenelle, who has Jace with ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis, had previously given custody of him to her mother, Barbara Evans, when he was an infant.)
On August 14, Jace was reported missing after leaving school. He was found safe hours later.

"As a mother of a boy, I understand that children can sometimes misbehave and rebel, just like most of us did when we were kids," Jenelle stated through her manager, August Keen. "When Jace got into trouble at school, we made the decision to confiscate his phone, which led to his decision to run away."
Despite the ongoing conflicts with Eason, Jenelle emphasized that Jace's disappearance had "absolutely no connection to my situation with David. We make a point not to argue or fight in front of our children." She added, "This is simply a case of a teenage boy expressing his anger over having his phone taken away."
Two weeks later, Jenelle became worried when Jace went missing on their large property and contacted the authorities. They discovered him at a gas station, just 10 minutes away from their home.
"Jace was exploring the property as he often does. Without informing Jenelle, he decided to venture to the gas station," Keen explained in an August 28 statement to Us. "There's no need for alarm. Jace, being a teenager, is seeking his independence and wanting more freedom, while Jenelle is being a protective mother."

After the incidents, Jenelle, whose personal struggles were broadcasted on MTV for several years before her dismissal in 2019, responded to those who were blaming her for her son's repeated runaways.
"I'm receiving a significant amount of hate and comments, with many people pinning my son's actions on me," she expressed on social media. "For the past two to three years, my son has been going through a difficult time. We haven't made any of this public as we are committed to protecting his privacy. Considering my son's mental health challenges, we won't be sharing any details."
