Surprising Twist: Charlie Puth Unexpectedly Slides Into 'Summer House' Alum Hannah Berner's DMs Right Before Her Wedding

Hannah Berner, the Summer House alum, recently disclosed the identity of the celebrity who sent her a direct message prior to her wedding with Des Bishop. On their "Giggly Squad" podcast episode airing on Tuesday, June 27, the 31-year-old revealed that it was musician Charlie Puth who reached out, expressing his admiration by writing, "I like you."

Berner remembered receiving the playful message approximately a month prior to her wedding with Bishop, aged 47, scheduled for May 2022. "He appears pleasant," she observed, referring to the 31-year-old musician. "Not what I usually go for - but I simply viewed it as a compliment from one artist to another. I believe he was expressing his admiration for my work."

Meanwhile, DeSorbo, who is 30 years old, playfully remarked that she managed to persuade Berner to contemplate giving a response. "I'm up for anything you're up for," the Winter House celebrity recollected sharing with her friend at that moment.

According to Berner, she never read the Instagram message sent by Puth. Additionally, Berner pointed out that she and Puth do not follow each other on Instagram. Berner and DeSorbo also joked about how their mothers both enjoy Puth's music.

Berner gained attention in the media due to her personal life while appearing on Summer House between 2019 and 2021. During her time on the show, she had a romantic interest in fellow cast member Luke Gulbranson. The two had a physical relationship in an episode from April 2020, but their connection eventually faded away.

Berner then began dating Bishop and the couple made their relationship official before she went back to film season 5 of Summer House.

"He didn't meet me during a simple period," the comedian revealed exclusively to We in February 2021 following her engagement to Bishop. "I was living in the house, so he has witnessed many different aspects of my personality. The beginning of our relationship wasn't the smoothest, but viewers will be able to see how it unfolded on the show."

Berner also openly discussed the significant age gap between her and her partner. She acknowledged that some people may see the age difference as a concern, particularly when dating men in their 30s who tend to be easily distracted. However, Berner expressed her admiration for her current partner, who is in his 40s, highlighting his wisdom and life experiences. She mentioned the influence of his previous relationships and how they have shaped him into a person who does not require extensive guidance. Additionally, Berner appreciated his self-assured nature, which allows her to believe in her own potential. She emphasized the supportive and inspiring role he plays in her life, particularly with regards to her own career aspirations.

On the other hand, Puth has previously been romantically linked to several celebrities, including Selena Gomez, Bella Thorne, Halston Sage, and Charlotte Lawrence. The "Attention" singer has openly admitted that he doesn't mind when his fans speculate about his love life based on his music.

"In February 2022, he admitted, 'It's my own responsibility. I prefer to ignite their passion, especially if they're musicians, encouraging them to pursue similar endeavors by infusing genuine emotions into their melodies."
