Paige DeSorbo believes that Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard's breakup might actually be a positive outcome, as she shared her thoughts on the matter during an episode of Scheana Shay's "Scheananigans" podcast on Friday, October 6. Scheana, who couldn't find any answers herself, asked DeSorbo about the reasons behind the failed engagement.
"Lindsay took approximately two weeks to respond, but she finally sent me a text. So I only received a small amount of information," Shay, who was invited to the wedding, explained. "However, I am also friends with Carl and his mother, so I reached out to them and inquired. I still have no knowledge, but based on what you know, Lindsay was completely surprised by this?"
According to DeSorbo, Hubbard, 37, was not anticipating Radke, 38, to end their relationship abruptly.
She was taken aback by the end of it, which came as quite a shock. There were several contributing factors to the breakup. When the season airs, the viewers may not be as surprised as those directly involved in the relationship," she remarked. "It simply boils down to two individuals who decided to part ways."
According to DeSorbo, Hubbard and Radke would be better off. She believes that it's not ideal to marry someone who has doubts and isn't fully committed. DeSorbo thinks that Hubbard doesn't need to compare her situation to anything else and that Radke ultimately did both of them a favor.
On August 31, we received confirmation that the couple, who had plans to marry in November, had ended their relationship after Radke initiated the split. In an exclusive statement to Us, a source revealed that Lindsay was completely caught off guard by the cancellation of the engagement, while Carl had been emotionally detached from the relationship for quite some time.
Additionally, a second insider hinted that the consequences of the breakup would unfold on the eighth season of Summer House, stating that only the producers were aware of this impending separation.
DeSorbo discovered news of Hubbard and Radke's breakup shortly after filming for the show ended. Speaking on the September 28 episode of "The Toast" podcast, she reflected on the unique experience of this summer compared to previous ones. "This summer was unlike any other we've had. We had such a fantastic time that on the last day of filming, we were already thinking about what our reunion would be like because everything was going so smoothly."

DeSorbo explained that there was drama, but it wasn't severe enough to sever ties completely. It was the kind of drama that regular people experience, and they didn't expect anything more. However, just two days later, they were taken by surprise when they discovered the news on the internet, just like everyone else. No one was present during the incident, and DeSorbo admits to not being fully aware of the specifics.
Radke and Hubbard have recently spoken out following their highly publicized wedding cancellation. In a letter addressed to those who were invited, Radke officially announced their separation and expressed the intense sadness and devastation that Hubbard experienced due to his decision.
"I want to address the numerous misconceptions and false narratives that have only added to the anguish of this situation. Regrettably, we have come to the conclusion that our wedding cannot go forward at this time," Radke conveyed to their esteemed guests. "I am overwhelmed by the way in which events unfolded. I humbly request your patience and understanding as we strive to heal and recover during this exceptionally challenging period."
Hubbard, on the other hand, expressed her disappointment with Radke for abruptly ending their relationship.
In a September Instagram post, she wrote, "I feel like my entire life and future were torn away from me, and I'm struggling to understand why it happened without any answers or closure. It's embarrassing and devastating that it happened, and I feel betrayed. Accepting that trust has been broken has been a challenging process for me. I firmly believe in exhausting all efforts before giving up on a relationship of this magnitude."
