While Summer House's Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard didn't end up getting married, they still had to deal with the costs of their ceremony. They even had to hire lawyers to assist them with the aftermath.
Lindsay, who is 37 years old, shared on the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast episode that she made it clear she was not going to handle the fallout from the canceled wedding. She told them to take responsibility and figure things out on their own.
Lindsay wanted to make it clear to her wedding planners that she did not want to be involved in the cancellation of her wedding to Carl.
She reached out to her wedding planner and the two planners in charge of different aspects of the wedding - one handling hotel reservations and the other managing vendors and planning. Lindsay specifically told them not to contact her regarding the cancellation. She instructed them to communicate with Carl as it was his decision to cancel the wedding, and whatever consequences arose were his responsibility.
Lindsay shared that she ended up losing around $25,000 to $30,000 in wedding deposits due to the cancellation. She mentioned that there were significant cancellation fees involved, especially because the decision was made late. The longer you wait to cancel, the less money you can get back from the hotel and room bookings.
She also pointed out that once the wedding date is within 90 days, you become accountable for 50 percent of the room bookings.
Lindsay was asked if she wanted Carl to repay her for what she lost, and she mentioned that they had many discussions with lawyers.
In the season 8 finale of Summer House, which aired in May, viewers saw Carl cancel his wedding with Lindsay just a few months before the big day.
Lindsay first mentioned that she was taken by surprise by Carl's decision. However, she later revealed to Glamour that she didn't notice any warning signs in their relationship until they ended things.
In May, she shared, "I was fully invested and I'm a determined person. I won't give up until I know I've tried my best to make it work. We just weren't at that point yet."
While Carl is currently single, Lindsay has found herself in a new relationship with a mystery man, keeping his identity under wraps.
Part 1 of the Summer House season 8 reunion is set to premiere on Thursday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET, with part 2 following on Thursday, June 13, at 9 p.m. ET.

Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke's canceled wedding serves as a cautionary tale for couples considering tying the knot. The exorbitant costs associated with wedding planning can be financially devastating, especially when a last-minute cancellation occurs. Lindsay's decision to hold Carl accountable for the financial consequences of his choice is understandable, as she had made it clear that she would not bear the burden of the fallout.
The article highlights the importance of having a clear understanding of cancellation policies and fees when booking wedding vendors. The closer the date gets, the higher the penalties for canceling, making it crucial to make informed decisions well in advance. It also underscores the need for effective communication between couples and their wedding planners to ensure that all parties are aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
