Rich Polk/Bravo (2)
Carl Radke didn’t hold back when talking about his career compared to Lindsay Hubbard's on the latest episode of Summer House.
During the episode that aired on Thursday, April 25, Carl, 39, expressed to Kyle Cooke that he has been working hard and has a lot going on. This was in response to Lindsay, 37, saying that he lacked "hustle" and "passion" for his work.
Carl took a break from Kyle's Loverboy in 2022 and by the summer of 2023, during the filming of season 8, he had not yet returned to a full-time role. He expressed to Kyle his thoughts on how his career break compared to Lindsay's work situation. (Carl has since reconnected with the Loverboy team in a limited role.)
During their conversation, Carl questioned Kyle about Lindsay's current status, asking, "What have you done? Seriously, what are you doing?" Lindsay's business was inactive, and she believed that securing brand deals was her career. However, Carl disagreed, stating that brand deals alone do not constitute a career.
Carl jokingly mentioned that he wasn't trying to engage in a back-and-forth argument, but it did affect his ego. He found it silly that people thought he wasn't working or earning money.
He then disclosed that he had already made $70,000 this year from paid posts. However, he admitted that Lindsay earns more on social media, revealing that she had made $150,000.
In another part of the episode, Carl shared that he had another surprising conversation with Lindsay that weekend, aside from their argument about money.
During a talk with Kyle, Carl revealed that it was the "first time" he discovered Lindsay's desire to be a stay-at-home mom. He admitted, "It’s definitely a conversation we should’ve had a year and a half ago." (During filming in August 2023, Carl and Lindsay were preparing to get married in three months.)
Carl shared in a confessional that he has always known Lindsay as a strong, independent career woman. However, he feels a shift in her desires as she now seems more interested in staying at home and focusing on raising their children. This change is putting a lot of pressure on Carl.
Their relationship began in the summer of 2021 after a brief hookup a few years earlier. They took the next step and got engaged in the summer of 2022, a moment that was captured on season 7 of Summer House.
After season 8 filming wrapped up, it was revealed that Carl ended their engagement in August 2023. Lindsay shared with Us in November 2023 that she was completely taken by surprise by the breakup.
Throughout the season 8 of the Bravo series, viewers witnessed the deterioration of Carl and Lindsay’s relationship, which debuted in February.
In addition to Lindsay saying on the show that Carl lacked ambition, the two have argued in several episodes, expressed sexual frustrations, and mentioned "red flags" on both sides.
Don't forget to catch Summer House on Bravo on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
Editor's P/S:
The article highlights the ongoing tension between Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard from "Summer House" regarding their careers and their future together. Carl's frustration stems from Lindsay's perception of his lack of "hustle," while Lindsay argues that securing brand deals is sufficient for a career. Their differing views on career aspirations create a rift between them, especially considering Carl's temporary departure from Kyle's Loverboy and Lindsay's undisclosed business status.
Furthermore, Carl's revelation about Lindsay's desire to be a stay-at-home mom adds another layer of complexity to their relationship. Carl's perception of Lindsay as a strong and independent woman clashes with her newfound interest in focusing on family. As the season unfolds, viewers will continue to witness the fallout of Carl and Lindsay's conflicting priorities, potentially leading to further strain and uncertainty in their relationship.
