Taylor Swift is making an effort to support Sophie Turner by offering her a place to stay in her New York City apartment. According to an exclusive source, Taylor willingly provided Sophie with one of her investment properties in NYC during her divorce process.
Swift, 33, isn't fully aware of the intricacies of Turner's breakup with Joe Jonas, but she remains committed to supporting her friend. The insider reveals that Swift believes it's not her role to delve into the specifics and is solely focused on providing assistance and a place for Sophie to stay for as long as she requires it. Swift is determined to offer her unwavering support in any way possible.
Swift and Turner, who is 27 years old, have been regularly seen together in various locations in New York City following the public announcement of the actress' divorce earlier this month.
Official court documents obtained by Us reveal that Jonas, who is 34 years old, formally initiated the divorce process with Turner on September 5. He cited that their marriage had reached an "irretrievably broken" state. The couple shares two daughters, namely Willa, aged 3, and Delphine, aged 14 months.
The petition also emphasized that, despite Jonas and Turner's two daughters currently living with their father in Miami, it is crucial for the well-being of the children that both parents have joint custody.
A day after their high-profile divorce, the separated couple finally spoke out about their separation.
"We have collectively agreed to end our marriage in a respectful manner, after sharing four beautiful years together," expressed the couple in an Instagram statement. "While various assumptions may circulate, we want to emphasize that this decision was made together, and we earnestly request everyone to kindly honor our need for privacy, both for us and our children."
While fans were taken aback by the news, insiders close to the couple had foreseen the separation.
According to a source earlier this month, it was evident to friends that there had been a growing disconnect between the couple for some time now, and their bond didn't seem as strong as it used to be. Joe had kept their marital issues private, and it was not widely known that they had been facing difficulties for a longer period than they had let on.
Almost two weeks after announcing their separation, the situation became more complicated as Turner took legal action against Jonas. She filed a lawsuit seeking the return of their two daughters to the U.K., alleging that they were being unlawfully kept in New York City.
Turner claimed that Jonas declined to give the passports of their daughter, hindering their ability to travel to the U.K. with their mother.
According to The Messenger, the lawsuit stated, "During the meeting held on approximately September 17th, 2023, the Mother reiterated the previously agreed plan for the children to go back to England that week. However, the Father, who currently holds the children's passports, refuses to hand them over and also refuses to let the children accompany the Mother to England."

Jonas, on the other hand, strongly refuted Turner's accusations in a statement released through his representative. He described the lawsuit as a regrettable legal dispute concerning a deteriorating marriage. The spokesperson further emphasized that using terms like "abduction" is misleading or, at worst, a grave misuse of the legal system. It was made clear that the children were not taken unlawfully.
Us confirmed on Monday, September 25, that the pair signed a temporary consent agreement saying they will not take their two kids outside of the New York City area for now.
