Sophie Turner went through a tough time after news came out about her divorce from Joe Jonas. In a British Vogue article published on May 15, Turner, 28, shared that she had some really difficult days. She even said that there were moments when she didn't think she could handle it. Turner confessed that she felt like she couldn't stand up for herself and would even call her lawyer saying, "I can't do this. I just can't."

For two weeks, Turner felt stuck in a rut until her lawyer reminded her that she was fighting for her two daughters.

Turner shared, "When someone tells me to do it for my kids, I'm all in. I may not do it for myself, but I will find the strength for them."

In September 2023, news emerged that Jonas, 34, had filed for divorce from Turner after four years of marriage. Initially, they released a joint statement announcing their mutual decision to split. However, things took a turn when Turner sued Jonas, claiming that their daughters, Willa (3) and Delphine (22 months), had been wrongfully kept in New York and requested their return to England. (Jonas denied the allegations, and a temporary custody agreement was reached in October 2023. The lawsuit was later dismissed in January, as reported by British Vogue.)

Turner shared her experience with British Vogue, recalling being on set for another two weeks when the news broke. She expressed her struggle of being unable to leave due to work commitments, while her children were in the U.S. "And all these articles started coming out," she said.

Multiple reports raised concerns about Turner's parenting skills after a British tabloid released photos of her at a pub.

Turner expressed how the criticism affected her, admitting that she constantly worries about being a good mother and experiences intense mom guilt. She reassured herself that the rumors were false, emphasizing that she takes her role as a mother seriously and has never been a partygoer.

"It's incredible how many people will fabricate stories based on a picture. A picture may speak a thousand words, but it doesn't always tell the truth," she expressed. "It felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I didn't write, produce, or star in. It was truly shocking. I'm still processing it."

Turner mentioned that there are certain aspects of her and Jonas' divorce that she cannot talk about currently because of their legal proceedings.

She shared her dream with British Vogue of having a big Christmas with her daughters, Joe's entire family, and their grandparents. She emphasized that she just wants her girls to feel loved and have everyone present for them.

In March, Turner took steps to reactivate her and Jonas' divorce case by filing paperwork in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

“The filing was a legal formality, and the couple continues to negotiate an amicable resolution,” Jonas’ rep told Us in a statement at the time.
