Sophie Turner recently shared her thoughts on her marriage to Joe Jonas in an interview with British Vogue. She revealed that one thing she disliked was being constantly referred to as "the wife" of a pop star. This label was also applied to Danielle Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who are married to Joe's brothers Kevin and Nick, respectively.
"There was a lot of focus on the three brothers and their wives. We were always referred to as the wives, and I really didn't like that," she expressed.
"I often felt like I was just a plus-one. It wasn't because of him - he never made me feel that way. It was just the way people saw us, like we were groupies of the band."
Turner, who is 28, and Jonas, who is 34, revealed their decision to go their separate ways in September 2023. They were married for four years. The couple have two daughters together, Willa, who is 3 years old, and Delphine, who is 22 months old.

Shortly after the awards show, the couple got engaged in 2017 and tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2019, following the Jonas Brothers' performance of their popular song "Sucker."
Their early relationship felt like a dream to Turner. She mentioned feeling taken care of by her older partner to the extent that she struggled to do things for herself after returning home.
In September, Turner and Jonas made a joint announcement on Instagram about their decision to go their separate ways.

"After enjoying four amazing years together as a married couple, we have both agreed to peacefully end our marriage," shared the former partners. "While there may be various rumors circulating about the reasons behind our decision, we want to clarify that this was a mutual choice. We kindly ask for privacy and respect for our family, including our children."
Following a public disagreement regarding the custody of their two daughters, the celebrities came to a temporary custody arrangement in October 2023. During the same month, fans noticed that Turner and Chopra Jonas had unfollowed each other on Instagram. It is worth noting that Turner continues to follow Joe, Nick, Kevin, and Danielle Jonas.
In March, Turner filed paperwork in Miami-Dade County, Florida, to restart their divorce proceedings after the custody agreement expired in January.
A representative for Jonas mentioned in a statement on March 19 that the filing was just a legal requirement, and the couple is still working towards a friendly resolution.
Editor's P/S:
Sophie Turner's candid admission about being labeled as "the wife" of a pop star echoes a common experience faced by many women in high-profile relationships. The constant association with their partner's career can overshadow their own identity and accomplishments. Turner's frustration highlights the need to recognize women as individuals beyond their marital status.
Turner's decision to end her marriage after four years is a reminder that even seemingly idyllic relationships can hit roadblocks. The public scrutiny and expectations placed on celebrity couples can put immense pressure on their bond. While the reasons for their separation remain private, it's important to respect their decision and wish them well as they navigate this challenging time.
