Upon the release of Honkai: Star Rail, gamers couldn't help but draw comparisons between Clara and Klee from Genshin Impact, particularly their devastating abilities that wreak havoc on the battlefield. Adding to the similarities, Clara also shares the same rarity, path, and element as the Trailblazer's initial form, leading to even more comparisons with the game's main character despite their differing skillsets. Despite initially being considered weaker than other 5-star characters, Clara's popularity has soared as gamers have leveled up and optimized their characters, thanks to her extraordinary damage potential that surpasses many other DPS characters.
Clara's Counter follow-up ability makes her an exceptional performer, especially when paired with the right teams. When accompanied by Svarog, Clara not only inflicts additional damage but also gains resilience, allowing her to deal even more damage. The good news is that players can access a variety of light cone options for Clara, including free-to-play choices, making her an excellent character for tackling various content in Honkai: Star Rail.
5 The Moles Welcome You
Base ATK (LVL 80):
476
Base DEF (LVL 80):
264
Base HP (LVL 80):
1058
Effect
: For every Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate used by the wearer, the wearer gains one stack of Mischievous. Each stack increases the wearer’s ATK by
12%/16%/18%/20%/24%.
The Moles Welcome You is a stellar 4-star light cone that complements any Destruction path character that relies on ATK, as it gradually builds up stacks. However, it is worth noting that the wording on the light cone can be misleading, as it does not stack infinitely. Instead, it can stack up to 3 times, with each stack being obtained from either basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate respectively. Therefore, players must ensure that they use all of these abilities at least once as soon as possible to maximize the stack count and acquire a significant ATK boost, even without any additional superimposition levels.
4 Nowhere to Run
Base ATK (LVL 80):
529
Base DEF (LVL 80):
264
Base HP (LVL 80):
952
Effect
Nowhere to Run not only boosts the wearer's ATK by a significant amount, but also has a defensive aspect by restoring the character's HP whenever they defeat an enemy. This makes it an ideal choice for farming easier content, as its high ATK modifier outperforms other 4-star Destruction light cones. However, it's worth noting that the secondary effect's condition limits its versatility compared to other light cone options for Clara. It's necessary for her to deliver the final blow, and it isn't particularly helpful in battles against solo bosses without weaker monsters present. Another disadvantage is that it's only accessible through purchasing Nameless Glory, making it unavailable to F2P players. Additionally, players who choose an option from Nameless Glory may prefer another option, such as one for the Harmony or Erudition paths, before considering this one.
3 A Secret Vow
Base ATK (LVL 80):
476
Base DEF (LVL 80):
264
Base HP (LVL 80):
1058
Effect
: Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by
20%/25%/30%/35%/40%
. The wearer also deals an extra
20%/25%/30%/35%/40%
of DMG to enemies with a higher HP percentage than the wearer.
Clara can greatly benefit from equipping A Secret Vow, a top choice for a 4-star light cone due to its DMG buff. This buff has the potential to double the damage dealt, making it a formidable weapon in battle. Especially in the early stages, when enemies are still strong, Clara thrives on taking damage and this light cone allows her to deal even more damage. For even more effectiveness, players can pair Clara with March 7th, a character that can enhance the utility of A Secret Vow. Shielding Clara with March 7th not only makes her more likely to be targeted, but also allows her to mitigate more damage in later turns. This tactic can be especially useful if players aim to keep Clara at lower HP, thus extending the usefulness of A Secret Vow throughout the battle.
2 On the Fall of an Aeon
Base ATK (LVL 80):
582
Base DEF (LVL 80):
396
Base HP (LVL 80):
1164
Effect
: Whenever the wearer attacks, increase their ATK by
8%/10%/12%/14%/16%
in this battle, up to 4 time(s). When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on enemies, the wearer’s DMG increases by
12%/15%/18%/21%/24%
Players who prefer a free-to-play option can utilize On the Fall of an Aeon, a powerful 5-star light cone that can be acquired by collecting Herta Bonds through completing the Simulated Universe. With this light cone, players can easily reach maximum superimposition, resulting in a substantial and unconditional boost to Clara's ATK. Additionally, when Clara lowers the enemy's toughness meter, she gains an extra damage increase, making this light cone especially advantageous in tough battles against foes susceptible to Physical damage.
1 Something Irreplaceable
Base ATK (LVL 80):
582
Base DEF (LVL 80):
396
Base HP (LVL 80):
1164
Effect
: Increases the wearer’s ATK by
20%/25%/30%/35%/40%
. When the wearer defeats an enemy or is hit, immediately restores HP equal to
6%/7.5%/9%/10.5%/12%
of the wearer’s ATK. At the same time, the wearer’s DMG increases by
20%/25%/30%/35%/40%
until the end of their next turn. This effect cannot stack and can only trigger 1 time per turn.
Clara's signature light cone, Something Irreplaceable, is unsurprisingly the best option for her due to its excellent synergy. The artwork also features Clara, making it a perfect fit. This light cone provides Clara with an unconditional ATK buff, easily activated HP restoration, and a damage increase every turn when she is hit or defeats an enemy. As long as the party does not include a character with a significant taunt ability, Clara can benefit from this light cone unconditionally. However, future limited-time event light cones may offer competition.
