The royal family celebrated Easter by attending their yearly church service on Sunday, March 31. Princess Kate Middleton and Prince William were absent due to her battle with cancer.
King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince Andrew, Duchess Sarah Ferguson, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Duchess Sophie were present at St Georges Chapel in Windsor to mark the holiday.
Crowds gathered outside the cathedral in anticipation, ready to show their support and cheer on the King who seemed to be in good spirits.
The family looked cheerful as they arrived at the ceremony, waving to the supportive crowds gathered outside the chapel.

King Charles, aged 75, arrived at the service with Queen Camilla, aged 76, in his maroon state Bentley limousine. He appeared happy and greeted the crowds with a smile and wave before going into the chapel.
Princess Kate Middleton and Prince William did not attend the event. Kate is currently focusing on her cancer treatment and has decided to take a break from public appearances.
During the ceremony, the monarch sat in the “Sovereign’s Seat” near the front of the altar, while his family took their usual places in the stalls. Before the royal family arrived, the Archbishop of Canterbury opened his Easter sermons by encouraging the public to pray for the King and Kate.
Kate, who is 42 years old, had abdominal surgery in January. Just recently, she disclosed that she had been diagnosed with cancer after the surgery, but she chose not to reveal the specific type or stage. She mentioned that she is currently in the early stages of undergoing “preventative chemotherapy.”

In a video message on March 22, she shared that the news was a big surprise for her and William. The couple, who have three children together, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, have been dealing with the situation privately to protect their young family.
She mentioned that she is doing well and getting stronger each day by focusing on healing her mind, body, and spirit. Having William by her side brings her comfort and reassurance, along with the love and support shown by many others.
We really appreciate your support during this time. As a family, we kindly ask for some time, space, and privacy as I undergo treatment.
Work has always brought me happiness, and I can't wait to return once I am feeling better. Right now, my focus is on getting back to full health.

Kensington Palace previously mentioned that Kate will resume her official duties once her medical team gives her the go-ahead. Meanwhile, William will continue to support his wife and family, as well as fulfill his official responsibilities.
Kate made her announcement following Charles' disclosure of his cancer diagnosis in February. Buckingham Palace stated that the monarch has begun regular treatments and has been advised by doctors to delay public appearances.
Camilla has taken over for Charles at many of his engagements amid his absence.
Princess Anne
Charles and Kate have been supporting each other through their health struggles. In January, the king visited the Princess of Wales in the hospital and gave her words of encouragement after she shared her diagnosis.
Buckingham Palace stated earlier this month that His Majesty is proud of Catherine for her courage and speaking up. After their time in the hospital together, His Majesty has kept in close contact with his beloved daughter-in-law in the past weeks. Both their Majesties will provide love and support to the entire family during this challenging period.
