Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have announced the arrival of their second child, a baby boy named Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. Born on May 30, weighing 7.1lbs, the newborn is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and Princess Eugenie's Grandpa Ronald. The couple shared the news via Instagram on Monday, June 5.
In a shared snapshot, Eugenie's 2-year-old son August was seen showing affection towards his new sibling by gently patting their head while they slept. According to Eugenie, August is already enjoying his role as a big brother.
In January, Brooksbank and Eugenie shared the news of their second child's impending arrival. The Hauser & Wirth art director expressed their excitement through an Instagram post, while August was photographed kissing Eugenie's stomach, with Brooksbank being credited for capturing the moment.
Princess Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, took to Instagram to express her excitement about the new addition to the royal family. She shared a heartwarming photo of August, dressed in a bright yellow rain jacket, as he happily splashed through a puddle. In the caption, she expressed her joy and anticipation of sharing more special moments with her new grandson.
During an interview uploaded to the royal family YouTube channel, Eugenie reminisced about a trip to Nicaragua where she and her now-husband first got engaged. She described the stunning lake and how she exclaimed, "this is an incredible moment," before he popped the question. The couple met in 2010 while at a ski resort in Switzerland and officially announced their engagement in January 2018.
During a pre-wedding interview in October 2018, the couple made an appearance in another interview video. Eugenie expressed that it was love at first sight when she was asked about their initial meeting. Her husband, the brand ambassador, interjected and said that he saw her first and they locked eyes for a moment.
The pair exchanged vows at St George’s Chapel in Windsor and later welcomed son August in February 2021.

On Instagram, the new mother shared the introduction of August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, named after his great grandfather and great x5 grandfathers. Buckingham Palace released a statement expressing the delight of grandparents, Ferguson and Prince Andrew, upon hearing the news of August's birth.
On Twitter, Ferguson shared a heartfelt personal statement expressing her joy and gratitude for the birth of her grandson. She praised Jack and Eugenie as exceptional parents, and expressed her pride in their new role. Later in the same year, Eugenie's sister Princess Beatrice also became a mother, giving birth to her first child, Sienna Elizabeth, after marrying Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020.
