Real Housewives of Orange County alum Lauri Peterson**** is still grieving the loss of her son, Josh Waring.

In a recent social media post, Peterson, who is 63 years old, opened up about her mourning journey by reposting a photo of flowers originally taken by her daughter, Sophia Waring.

On Thursday, April 11, Peterson shared on her Instagram Stories, "The saddest day of my life. The Lord has you in his hand."

In another post, Sophia wrote, "May you finally be free and at peace, Josh."

Peterson shared the heartbreaking news on April 6 that her 35-year-old son had passed away on Easter Sunday. She expressed her deep pain and sorrow on Instagram, saying that nothing could have prepared her for this overwhelming loss. Peterson revealed that her son, Josh, had fought hard every day for many years, but unfortunately, he couldn't overcome the challenges he faced on that particular Sunday.

The former Bravo star shared that Josh had a childhood filled with intellect, humor, sports, and a love for music. Despite facing challenges in adulthood, he remained optimistic, kind, and devoted to his family and friends.

An official cause of death has not been disclosed, but Josh's sister Ashley Zarlin believes that addiction may have been a contributing factor.

On April 6, she shared on Instagram that she lost her brother to addiction. The disease twisted and ruined his life, leaving behind shattered dreams and broken hearts. Despite his brilliance and potential, addiction derailed his path.

Peterson was a part of RHOC from seasons 1 to 4. She decided to leave the show in 2008 when her brother Josh got arrested for heroin possession and being under the influence.

Peterson expressed her belief that drug addiction is a genetic illness, stating that Josh was predisposed to it and has it. She mentioned to the Orange County Register that the media sensationalized his drug use, which she felt was inaccurate and did him injustice. Despite this, she acknowledged that Josh's issues existed before his appearances on reality shows, as he enjoyed being on the show.

Following Josh's passing, Peterson has received support from her Bravo costars, including Jeana Keough, Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, and Jo De La Rosa.

Andy Cohen expressed his condolences to Lauri in the comments section, acknowledging her efforts to save Josh and educate others about addiction. He hopes that Josh's memory will always be a blessing to her family, sending love their way.
