Reflecting on the Breakup: Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard Discuss their Split at BravoCon 2023

Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard shared an awkward reunion during the Summer House cast panel at BravoCon 2023.

Moderator Brian Moylan started the conversation by acknowledging the obvious issue, which is the breakup between Carl and his ex-fiancée. Carl, aged 38, ended their relationship in August, just before their scheduled wedding in Mexico this month.

Lindsay, who is now speaking, shared that they hardly communicate unless there is a need for Carl to visit the apartment to collect his belongings. She expressed her nervousness and admitted to feeling shaken.

Carl expressed his gratitude and nerves as he reunited with his Summer House costars at BravoCon in Las Vegas. He acknowledged the emotional aspect of it but emphasized his pride in being a part of the show and Bravo, expressing his love for the fans.

Lindsay enthusiastically praised her costars and friends who were present on what was originally her bachelorette weekend in September. She shared their trip to The Bahamas, describing it as an amazing experience and expressing her appreciation for the support she received from the girls.

Despite the fact that their breakup will be featured in season 8 of the show, both former partners expressed their anticipation for its return. Lindsay nostalgically remarked, "We genuinely enjoyed ourselves. This summer was exceptionally enjoyable for us."

Lindsay and Carl had a short-lived romance in season 4 of Summer House, but ultimately broke up. However, in January 2022, Carl confirmed that they had rekindled their relationship. Fast forward to August 2022, and we reported that the couple had taken their commitment to the next level - they got engaged.

Lindsay expressed exclusively to Us that she was completely caught off guard by Carl's decision to end their relationship, two months after their surprising split. She felt that he shattered her entire life. Her emotions ranged from tears to anger, and she had to find closure on her own. Lindsay stated that Carl never provided a specific reason for the breakup. However, she mentioned that she has now reached a point where she feels positive about moving forward.

The breakup moment between Lindsay and Carl was captured by Summer House cameras, which Lindsay perceived as a betrayal. She described it as an incredibly humiliating experience. Lindsay explained that it would have been more acceptable if this conversation had taken place during the regular filming schedule over the summer. Instead, she felt manipulated when Carl called the producers, arranged for cameras to be present, and then coerced her into sitting down so he could end the relationship after they had already finished filming. Lindsay emphasized that the entire world became aware of their breakup within just 30 minutes.

Regarding the cause of the separation, Lindsay insisted that their wedding arrangements were not at fault. “Couples have normal arguments, but nothing severe enough to cause a breakup,” she told Us. “It was only in the last two weeks of summer that his demeanor and tone changed. He became combative and aggressive, leaving me very confused.”

Lindsay was not the only one taken aback by the breakup. “No one saw it coming, not a single person. There were no warning signs. Two weeks before he ended it, he attended my [bridal] shower. One week before, he accompanied me to my dress fitting while he was fitting his suits with his groomsmen. The breakup had nothing to do with wedding planning. There was no infidelity,” she said, adding that Carl's sobriety was also not a contributing factor.
