Niantic has promised a second chance for Pokemon GO players who missed out on the recent Squirtle Community Day due to login issues. Since its launch in 2016, Pokemon GO has become a global sensation, with Niantic consistently introducing new content and organizing both minor and major events at regular intervals. Among these events are the monthly Community Day celebrations.
Community Days are special occasions where a specific Pokemon appears more frequently for a limited time. Players who have not yet encountered a particular Pokemon or require more Candy to evolve it are always excited to have the opportunity to catch it during a Community Day. Additionally, Community Days often offer added benefits, such as an increased likelihood of encountering Shiny Pokemon or unlocking special attacks when evolving the featured creature. Unfortunately, numerous players were unable to participate in the recent Squirtle Community Day on Pokemon Go.
In an announcement on July 18, Niantic acknowledged the login issues experienced by many players using Pokemon Trainers Club during the Squirtle Community Day event. To make up for this inconvenience, the developer has scheduled a makeup event on July 23, giving players another opportunity to catch all the Squirtles they can. This event will essentially be a complete redo, offering the same features, bonuses, and research rewards that were available during the original event.
Limited number of players were affected by the login issues, but the makeup event will be accessible to all. Those who missed the initial event can catch up, while those who participated before will receive an additional bonus. Regardless of their category, many players will want to prepare for the upcoming Pokemon Go Squirtle Community Day.
This is not the first instance where login issues have impacted players. In 2018, Pokemon Go players faced a Pokemon Trainer Club outage, indicating that such problems can still arise occasionally. However, Niantic is determined to compensate players when these issues occur, as evidenced by their prompt resolution and provision of a makeup event.
Despite not being the most formidable Pokemon in the game, Squirtle remains a timeless favorite from the original series. With a dedicated fan base, it gained even more recognition when Ed Sheeran joined a Pokemon Go event featuring the iconic Squirtle Squad. This upcoming event is one that fans should definitely not overlook. Pokemon GO can be played on both Android and iOS devices.
