Pete Davidson, 29, managed to avoid jail time after his involvement in a perilous car accident earlier this year by striking a deal. Instead of pleading guilty or no contest, Davidson has been enrolled in a diversion program. As part of this arrangement, he is obligated to fulfill 50 hours of community service, attend 12 hours of traffic school, and participate in a morgue course concerning victims affected by reckless drivers.
Davidson, who was involved in the incident in California, could potentially fulfil his obligations in New York City. It is necessary for him to finish all the required hours within the next 18 months.
According to CNN's report on Monday, July 24, Davidson's legal representative expressed his desire to carry out his community service with the New York Fire Department. It should be noted that Davidson's father, Scott, was a firefighter who tragically lost his life during the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Davidson and his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, were driving together in March when their vehicle spun out of control in the Flats neighborhood of Beverly Hills. Careening off the road, the car mounted the curb and collided with a fire hydrant before eventually crashing into the side of a nearby house. Substantial skid marks were left behind on the lawn, drawing immediate attention from the arriving police officers.

“The structure of the house is damaged tremendously,” the homeowner exclusively told We at the time. “It was very dramatic.”
Davidson's Mercedes-Benz was severely damaged in the crash, but fortunately, no one was injured. The incident took place at around 11:30 p.m. local time, and the homeowner's 16-year-old daughter was present at the scene. There were no arrests made in relation to the crash, and authorities have ruled out the possibility of Davidson driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
"The most important thing for me is that they are safe," the owner stated. "They provided me with a manager's contact number and assured me that the manager would handle the situation."

Davidson was charged with one count of reckless driving three months later. The Los Angeles District Attorney's office stated in June that they believed Davidson's reckless driving led to a serious collision into a home. Fortunately, no one suffered serious injuries in the accident. The office emphasized the devastating consequences of reckless driving, noting that traffic fatalities in Los Angeles have reached the highest levels in 20 years in 2022. It added that this disturbing trend cannot be ignored and emphasized the importance of taking allegations of reckless driving seriously and holding those responsible accountable.

Davidson and Wonders began a romantic relationship while collaborating on the film Bodies Bodies Bodies in 2022. Despite keeping their romance relatively private, an exclusive source told Us in June that the couple is becoming increasingly committed, and Davidson is extremely content.
Unfortunately, later that same month, Davidson checked into rehab due to his ongoing battle with PTSD and borderline personality disorder. Over the years, the Saturday Night Live former cast member has been open about his mental health struggles, often incorporating them into his comedic routines.
