Highlights

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's latest update has introduced a game-breaking bug that can ruin the final battle for players.

The bug occurs when players engage in battle with the Paradise Protection Protocol and meet certain specific conditions.

Speculations among players suggest that the bug might be connected to the upcoming Indigo Disk DLC, although no official confirmation has been made yet. As Game Freak has not addressed the issue, players are advised to take precautions in order to avoid the bug until an official fix is provided.

The recent update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has introduced a major bug that can severely impact players during the final battle. The ongoing journey in Paldea continues with the expansion of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which brings in new characters and Pokemon.

Last month, Pokemon players were thrilled with the release of the highly anticipated DLC, The Teal Mask. This DLC allows players to explore the Kitakami region and uncover the ancient tales passed down by the locals. Additionally, the DLC introduces new pocket creatures such as Poltchageist, Okidogi, as well as Pokemon from previous generations including Ekans, Hoothoot, Lotad, and Kirlia. The Teal Mask also introduces exciting new activities including the Ogre Oustin' minigame, the Timeless Woods side quest, and new mass outbreak events. However, players should be aware of a bug that can potentially disrupt their gameplay during a critical moment in the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.

Twitter user mattyoukhana_ has discovered a bug in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet version 2.0.1 that causes the game to crash during the battle against the Paradise Protection Protocol. The bug occurs when the player has Koraidon/Miraidon registered in the Pokedex and hovers over the team's fourth, fifth, or sixth slot. Mattyoukhana_ demonstrated this bug in a video. However, he also suggested two alternative solutions to avoid the issue. One option is to enter the battle with only a team of three Pokemon. The second alternative is to navigate upwards instead of downwards and reach the legendary slot.

Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were perplexed by the specific requirements needed to trigger this bug. Some players speculated that it could be linked to the Indigo Disk DLC, which is the second part of the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero expansion pass. These players theorize that certain lines of code in preparation for the release of the second DLC might impose party restrictions, potentially conflicting with the Teal Mask codes. However, it has not been confirmed whether this is indeed the cause of the bug.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have encountered bugs before with the release of the Teal Mask DLC. One such bug affected the Kitakami Ogre Clan side quest, causing issues with players' progress. Fortunately, Game Freak quickly rectified the bug, preventing any additional frustrations for players. However, the Paradise Protection Protocol bug remains unaddressed by Game Freak at this time. Therefore, players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may want to take precautionary measures to safeguard their progress until an official fix is released. These games are currently available on the Nintendo Switch.
