Reddit user heyladswhatsup, who had never played Pokemon before, managed to catch a rare shiny Ducklett during their first playthrough of Pokemon Black. Fellow members of the r/pokemon community congratulated heyladswhatsup on their incredible luck, with some pointing out that the Ducklett also had the Pokerus virus, making it even more rare.

The release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet last year added to the list of rare shiny Pokemon variants. Set in the Europe-inspired Paldea region, the games feature three selectable storylines and offer players the chance to catch plenty of shiny Pokemon. However, the Pokerus virus, which made heyladswhatsup's catch even more special, was removed from the game.

Despite being a beginner in the world of Pokemon, heyladswhatsup struck gold with their shiny Ducklett, which was also infected with the rare Pokerus virus. This is an impressive discovery that could only be attributed to sheer luck. It makes one wonder what other incredible Pokemon they will encounter in their journey through Pokemon Black.
