As Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 draws to a close, the anticipation for the season finale live event is growing. Evidently, players have been noticing some peculiar seismic activity on the battle royale island, resulting in cracks appearing in certain areas of the map, excavation camps being set up, and vines emerging from the ground. To shed some light on these bizarre occurrences, players will need to strategically place seismographs on fault lines and gather data that Mystica can analyze. Completing this mission will reward players with some extra XP, helping them achieve those last-minute Battle Pass levels.
Fault Line Locations
Players are required to strategically place three seismographs on the battle royale map to complete Week 12's quest. However, the fault lines are scattered throughout the map, making it challenging for players to reach them in a single match. To overcome this hurdle, players can make use of mobility items such as ODM Gear or the Spider-Verse's Web-Shooters. The locations of the three fault lines where players need to place the seismographs are as follows:
Players will see an exclamation mark on their mini-map when they approach an area where a seismograph can be placed, signaling that a quest location is in the vicinity. This can be found northeast of Shattered Slabs, on the road south of Autumnwood forest, south of Frenzy Fields where the green fields meet the darker grassy area, and northeast of Drift Ridge by the bridge that connects Mega City to Slappy Shores.
How To Place Seismographs
After defeating the seismic creature, a grayed hologram will appear in its place, indicating where players must go to activate it. Interacting with the hologram requires players to approach it and press and hold the "Place" button. This triggers the seismographs to monitor the area for any additional seismic activity, adding an extra layer of excitement for players invested in Fortnite's lore and storyline. By completing this task, players become an active participant in what's to come with the start of Chapter 4 Season 3.
Upon completion of the quest, players will be rewarded with 25,000 XP, a valuable boost for those still working towards their Battle Pass goals. Fortnite can be played on a variety of platforms, including Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
