Furthermore, the trailer provided a glimpse of the updated roster, including new Kameo fighters. Now, additional details about the Invasion mode have emerged, suggesting that Mortal Kombat 1 will offer captivating and innovative single-player content.

The PlayStation Blog and Maximilian Dood have shared more details on this new mode called Invasion. This mode allows players to explore a board game-like map that reflects the locations in the Mortal Kombat universe. Players can form a party of characters and embark on an adventure, leveling up and equipping them with new loot. The maps will start off linear but become more complex as the mode progresses.

Invasion offers plenty of unlockables, including in-game currency, concept art, cosmetics, and other items. Additionally, players can enjoy various mini-games while exploring each map in this mode. NetherRealm Studios has also confirmed that they will continue to update Invasion, ensuring that Mortal Kombat 1 provides a range of single-player content, in addition to the story mode, to keep fans entertained.

The Invasion mode of Mortal Kombat 1 was leaked in August, revealing its inclusion of seasonal changes. It appears that Invasion will replace the Krypt in Mortal Kombat 1, offering players the opportunity to acquire in-game items as they progress through the game.

Despite the prominence of online multiplayer in the fighting game genre, newer titles are incorporating more single-player content. For instance, Street Fighter 6 introduced a World Tour mode upon release, allowing players to explore a 3D world and partake in various activities.
