A Honkai: Star Rail player discovered a helpful tip to hide from enemies using small characters, allowing players to avoid random enemy encounters.
Bailu and other small characters have the ability to remain undetected by enemies and progress through the game's story without engaging in battles by taking cover behind fragile objects and even desks.
Although this technique is currently only available for three small characters, it is highly probable that future updates will introduce more characters, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of this strategy.
In Honkai: Star Rail, a player has discovered a strategy to hide from enemies by using a small character. This popular game in the HoYoverse features a wide range of enemies that players can encounter while exploring different worlds. When their characters come close to these monsters, the game transitions into a turn-based battle.
With the release of Version 1.2, Honkai: Star Rail introduced new bosses and enemy types, expanding its world-building aspect. While most monsters scale with the players' Trailblazer Level, the new additions presented challenges that required players to gather upgrade materials and build their characters in order to form a suitable team composition. However, some players found random enemy encounters in Honkai: Star Rail to be bothersome, especially if their characters had low health or their team was not strong enough.
Apart from evading enemies until their alert meter disappears, Reddit user Triet2008 revealed that players of Honkai: Star Rail could successfully hide from enemies by utilizing smaller characters. In a video clip, they demonstrated Bailu, a child character, concealing themselves behind a breakable object without alerting the enemies present in the Simulated Universe. To confirm this tactic, Bailu briefly exposed herself to fill up the alert meter and then hid again, successfully preventing the enemies from pursuing her. Furthermore, the player also changed to Caelus, a taller character, to showcase their inability to effectively conceal themselves.
Furthermore, Triet2008 mentioned that smaller characters could also discreetly position themselves behind desks, despite their heads being visible. These insights were greatly appreciated by fellow Honkai: Star Rail players, who found the tip both helpful and endearing. One player expressed their gratitude, as they could finally progress through the game's storyline without unnecessary enemy encounters.
Currently, Honkai: Star Rail only features three small characters, namely Bailu, Hook, and Clara. This severely limits players' options when it comes to executing the hiding technique, especially since Bailu and Clara are both five-star units that can be challenging to acquire through the Standard Warp. However, there is good news on the horizon as Version 1.3 is rumored to introduce Lynx, a four-star character and the youngest sister of Serval and Gepard, expanding the available character roster.
Constantly evading enemies may put certain players at a disadvantage by potentially causing them to miss out on valuable item drops like Trace materials, which are essential for character and skill upgrades in Honkai: Star Rail. Nonetheless, the small character strategy can still be beneficial, particularly for players who need to take a break from playing the game.
Honkai: Star Rail is available now for Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation 5 version will release in Q4 2023.
