Located in the Dry Steppes, the Onyx Hold can be discovered within the appropriately named Onyx Watchtower sub-region, situated directly southeast of Ked Bardu. Starting from the Barbarian town, head towards the Khargai Crags and closely follow the canyon's base.

The Onyx Watchtower functions as a Stronghold, currently occupied by a group of bandits. Within this area, players will need to eliminate all enemies and additionally demolish various sections of the encampment. Caution should be exercised when encountering cages, as breaking them will release the captured creatures.

Eliminate the leader in order to gain access to the Onyx Watchtower which will serve as a secure area. This newfound refuge will offer a waypoint for navigation purposes as well as a dedicated space for blacksmithing activities.

Master the Secrets of Diablo 4's Onyx Hold Dungeon: A Comprehensive Guide

Within the confines of the Onyx Hold lies a host of eerie undead beings, comprising an assortment of animated cadavers and spectral apparitions. This grim citadel adopts the prison tileset found in comparable dungeons such as Guuhlrahn Slums and the Black Asylum, resulting in an abundance of spacious corridors, confinement chambers, and labyrinthine cul-de-sacs.

Your first objective in this dungeon is to defeat all of the enemies in the area. It's important to be thorough, as the horde spawn mechanic in the Onyx Hold doesn't always trigger reliably. Be sure to check the jail cells for chained zombies, as they also contribute to the kill objective.

In the second half of the dungeon, players will need to eliminate Languishing Corpses that are scattered throughout the map. These corpses will appear as skulls on the minimap, making them easy to find. While it is possible to avoid the regular enemies in this section, it is still recommended to eliminate them in order to simplify encounters with the elites. The dungeon will be considered complete once all of the Languishing Corpses have been slain.

It is not advisable to run the standard version of the Onyx Hold due to its longer completion time compared to dungeons like Champion's Demise or Uldur's Cave. Instead, it is recommended to run the Onyx Hold as a Nightmare Dungeon with less challenging modifiers.

Diablo 4 can now be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
