Julia Fox has no problem with her son being a nepo baby. In fact, she wants him to take pride in being born into the industry.
In a recent interview with Variety published on April 29, she expressed her belief that hiding your kids is like doing them a disservice. She wants her son to embrace his nepo baby status and own it proudly. He shouldn't deny it but rather confidently say, "Yes, I'm a nepo baby, and what?"
A nepo baby is a well-known or influential person with a parent who is also notable or powerful. This often includes celebrities or politicians whose connections are seen as crucial to their success.
The actress from Uncut Gems told Variety that her son, Valentino, who is 3 years old, falls into the category of a nepo baby. Despite this, she ensures that he has a fairly normal life. She doesn't rely on a nanny, stays connected with parents from his daycare through email, and hosts playdates for Valentino with other children at their four-story home in Harlem. She shares this home with her best friend and boyfriend, who she refers to as "the man in Valentino’s life." (Valentino is shared with her ex-husband Peter Artemiev, whom she was married to from 2018 to 2020.)
"He is a great example of what it means to be a man," she said. "He is confident in his masculinity and is the perfect role model for Valentino. I want Valentino to grow up without the pressure to be overly aggressive like some other men around us."

Fox mentioned that the family unit in the country is falling apart, and new solutions are needed. He believes that chosen family is superior to biological family in addressing this issue.
Fox surprised everyone by keeping her pregnancy and her son's birth a secret. She finally revealed the news by posting pictures from her nude maternity photo shoot in February 2021, just one month after Valentino was born.
In an Instagram post, she shared, "Right after the shoot I went to the hospital and had my precious baby boy. My forever valentine, Valentino, was born on January 17th, 2021. It was the best day of my life."
Editor's P/S:
Julia Fox's perspective on nepotism is refreshing and empowering. She believes that her son should embrace his privileged background and use it to his advantage. This challenges the traditional view of nepotism as something shameful or underhanded. Instead, Fox sees it as a natural part of life and a valuable asset.
Fox's emphasis on chosen family over biological family is also intriguing. She believes that the traditional family unit is outdated and that people should be free to create their own families based on love and support. This reflects a growing trend in society towards more fluid and inclusive definitions of family.
