Master the Evolution: Unleashing the Power of Yanmega in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Yanma and its evolved form, Yanmega, are part of the new Pokemon additions in the first DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, known as The Teal Mask. This DLC takes players to a pristine area called Kitakami, which is home to various Pokemon that have not been encountered in previous entries. Among these new creatures is Yanma, a flying-bug type Pokemon, and its evolved form, Yanmega.

To catch Yanma and eventually evolve it into Yanmega, you'll need to be aware of its non-traditional evolution path. In the vast grassy and rocky landscapes of Kitakami, you can find Yanma in multiple locations. These include the northern and southern tips of Kitakami, as well as the central region and southwestern tip. Yanma stands out with its vibrant red color and relatively large size, making it relatively easy to spot.

Now, let's delve into all the essential details you should know about capturing and evolving Yanmega in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's The Teal Mask DLC.

Yanma evolves into Yanmega when it learns Ancient Power and reaches the required level. To evolve Yanma into Yanmega, it must level up while knowing the move Ancient Power. Normally, Yanma learns Ancient Power at level 33. However, most wild Pokemon in the Teal Mask DLC are at least level 55. This can be both advantageous and disadvantageous. On the positive side, you can check your Yanma's information screen and go to the moves section to see if it has learned Ancient Power before. Usually, this move will be listed there. However, the negative aspect is that not all captured Yanma will have previously known Ancient Power. If the move cannot be remembered, you will either need a TM or catch a new Yanma. Unfortunately, Ancient Power is not a TM that can be crafted in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, so you will need to find one in the open world by chance.

Once Ancient Power becomes one of Yanma's four moves, you can level up the Pokemon either through battles or by using a leveling item. This will trigger the evolution into its final form, Yanmega. Yanmega is also a flying-bug type but boasts better overall stats compared to its previous evolution.
