Lukas Gage, 28, subtly shaded his estranged husband Chris Appleton when he explained his choice to join the Hinge dating app instead of the more exclusive competitor, Raya, by simply stating "The real ones."
"We have enough influencers," he told TMZ. "We've already had enough of that."
Gage's statement comes shortly after it was revealed that Appleton, 40, had filed for divorce from the White Lotus star after just six months of marriage. The celebrity hairstylist cited "irreconcilable differences" and stated their date of separation as November 10, as per court documents obtained by We.
Shortly after their highly publicized breakup, a source revealed exclusively to Us that their split was far from amicable.
"This is not the outcome they had hoped for," the source shared in November 2023. "It will take time for both of them to heal and move forward with their lives."
The sudden breakup of the couple caught fans off guard, but a second source revealed that infidelity was the cause of the split. "Lukas was unfaithful to Chris, and Chris discovered it over the weekend," the insider told Us. They emphasized that the couple was never in an open relationship.
Another source refuted the accusation, telling Us that Gage did not cheat on Appleton and there was no infidelity. They also mentioned that the breakup was friendly.
The split happened shortly after Gage and Appleton's wedding was aired on Hulu's The Kardashians. In the episode, Appleton's close friend and client Kim Kardashian officiated the couple's wedding in a Las Vegas chapel in April 2023.
Before Gage and Appleton exchanged vows, Kardashian, 43, advised them to consider getting a prenuptial agreement. (Us confirmed that a postnuptial agreement was signed in May 2023.)
“Can I just give you one tip from a lawyer? Prenup,” she said to Gage over FaceTime while Appleton did her hair in the episode. “Just a general suggestion, I think I can even help you guys draft it.”
Appleton confirmed his relationship with the rumored romantic partner in March 2023, expressing his happiness and love on The Drew Barrymore Show. "I'm very happy, very much in love," he shared. "I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special. Love is a really special thing and, I think, meeting someone that you connect with is very special."

In the same month, Gage expressed his admiration for Appleton. “I am extremely happy, fortunate, and deeply in love. He's an attractive man,” Gage stated on the Today show. “There's something about being in London. I feel like I've been influenced by the Brits.”
