According to exclusive sources, Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage are currently dealing with the aftermath of their divorce, which was not their desired outcome. The sources also reveal that the separation is far from amicable.
According to an insider, both individuals will need time to overcome this and continue with their lives. On Monday, November 13, it was confirmed that Appleton, 40, has filed for divorce from Gage, 28, after being married for six months due to "irreconcilable differences," reported Us.
Appleton and Gage's breakup was not caused by a single issue but rather several factors, according to another insider. The source informed Us that there was no singular event responsible for their decision. It's worth noting that their separation occurred on Friday, November 10, immediately following the airing of their wedding episode on Hulu's The Kardashians.
In the episode that began streaming on Thursday, November 9th, Kim Kardashian, who is both Appleton's client and close friend, flew them to Las Vegas to officiate their wedding at a chapel.
Prior to the celebrations, Kardashian, aged 43, advised Appleton and Gage about the importance of having a prenuptial agreement. It was confirmed on Monday by Us that a postnuptial agreement was signed following Appleton and Gage's ceremony in April.
The couple initially sparked rumors of a romance earlier this year, with Appleton officially confirming their relationship in March. Speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show, he expressed his happiness and deep love for his partner. On the Today show, Gage enthusiastically shared his feelings, describing himself as fortunate, thrilled, and completely smitten with Appleton. He also mentioned the allure of being in London and how it may have influenced his feelings for his British partner.
Earlier that month, Gage expressed his preference for maintaining privacy regarding the details of his love life. "Although I am generally open about most aspects of my life, I have reservations about the pervasive culture of prying into others' affairs without boundaries," he conveyed to The New York Times during the same period. "I find it challenging to determine where to draw the line."
The former cast member of The White Lotus remembered the pressure to publicly disclose his sexual orientation, stating, "I recognize the importance of representation and amplifying marginalized voices, but I want to make decisions based on my own timing and terms. I'll do it when I feel prepared."
Following Appleton and Gage's decision to go public, their engagement was revealed by Us in April.
