Maren Morris is currently going through her "annual existential crisis" phase, as she shared in an Instagram Story on Monday, November 13. The 33-year-old country singer expressed her optimism for the future and mentioned making some adjustments to her life after her separation from her estranged husband, Ryan Hurd.
Morris playfully mentioned in her post the actions she has recently taken - shaving her head, getting a dog, and restarting her antidepressant medication. We previously reported that Morris officially filed for divorce from her husband, Hurd, who is 37 years old, on October 2. They had been married for five years, but ultimately decided to part ways due to irreconcilable differences. It is worth noting that the couple had a prenuptial agreement in effect.
Hurd was taken by surprise when Morris filed for divorce, according to a source interviewed by Us at the end of the previous month. The source added that her decision appeared sudden and unexpected.

The insider revealed that Morris and Hurd have contrasting personalities, which may have posed challenges in their relationship.
Morris and Hurd crossed paths in 2014 while collaborating on the song "Last Turn Home" for Tim McGraw. Over time, their friendship blossomed into a romantic connection, leading to Hurd's proposal two years later. In March 2018, they exchanged vows and became husband and wife. In March 2020, they joyfully welcomed their son, Hayes, who is now 3 years old.
Morris was seen without her wedding ring at multiple events before the news of her divorce became public. During her performance in Chicago to celebrate her EP, The Bridge, fans realized afterwards that she had performed without the ring on her finger.
A few days later, Morris attended the Los Angeles premiere of Taylor Swift's concert movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. Once again, she appeared on the red carpet without her ring.
When Morris ended her social media silence after news of the divorce, she hinted at the breakup in a mysterious post.
Via Instagram Stories on October 20, she wrote, "Everything will be alright," accompanying a selfie where she was not wearing her wedding ring. "You will simply embrace whatever comes your way when the time comes."
Despite their split, Morris and Hurd showed no signs of animosity as they reunited to take their son trick-or-treating. In a photo shared by Morris, the duo can be seen smiling as they hold hands with Hayes on October 31. While Hayes sported a dinosaur costume, Morris and Hurd were bundled up. (Hayes' face was concealed by a white heart emoji in the picture.) During their relationship, Morris and Hurd were candid about their love and the challenges they faced, particularly after a difficult summer in 2018.
Morris stated in a 2019 interview with Esquire that their bond had strengthened considerably through challenging discussions and difficult choices regarding their future. He expressed that although he had always loved the person, his feelings had deepened in unexpected and profound ways.
