Summer should be a time of fun and relaxation, but for Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke, joining the Summer House crew in season 8, episode 2, was far from enjoyable.

Lindsay, aged 37, and Carl, aged 39, missed the group's first weekend in the Hamptons as they went to Washington, D.C. This led to high tensions upon their arrival. The engaged couple, who got into a heated argument during the Bravo series' episode aired on Thursday, February 29.

Lindsay was concerned that the girls would use the fact that she ended up in an all-boys car to the club against her. She shared her worries with Carl, but felt that he dismissed her feelings.

However, Carl had a different perspective on the conversation. He recalled staying calm in the backseat with Lindsay and reassuring her that everything was fine, saying, "Babe, you're fine. It's not a big deal."

Carl claimed that Lindsay confronted him, accusing him of being on drugs by asking, "What are you on?" Despite his denial, stating he was sober since January 2021.

Backing up Carl's account, Kyle Cooke described how Lindsay escalated from calm to agitated within moments, saying, "I can't even explain how fast Lindsay went from calm to freaking out."

Lindsay, who was drunk, asked her friend Gabby Prescod to take her home right away. Once there, she began to talk about her fiance's behavior. "The way he spoke to me tonight was like Carl on cocaine," Lindsay said. "I don't know what happened, but he definitely wasn't sober."

Lindsay continued to express her concerns in Gabby's bed, tears starting to fall. "Something's not right with Carl. The way he was talking to me, it was like he was on cocaine. It was strange," she shared.

Gabby called Carl to see how he was doing. She then told Lindsay, "He sounded sober to me."

When Carl returned home, he admitted that his heart was racing as he tried to make sense of the argument with Lindsay.

It hurts me so much, I can't stop shaking. How can the person I'm supposed to marry say such hurtful things? It really bothers me. The worst part is being accused of being 'on something.' It's like a punch to the gut.

The next day, the situation escalated as Lindsay implied that Carl had started drinking again. Carl responded by accusing Lindsay of drinking all night and waking up angry. Lindsay retaliated by suggesting that Carl was doing other things.

Carl expressed his frustration to Lindsay, telling her that he was sober and trying to be supportive, but felt upset by her rude and aggressive behavior due to her drinking all day long.

In August 2023, Carl ended their engagement after being together with Lindsay throughout the summer. Lindsay later shared in November 2023 that she felt blindsided by the breakup, accusing Carl of manipulating the situation with producers for their split to be filmed.

Lindsay and Carl's breakup was messy, but Lindsay explained that when she accused Carl of being on drugs during the summer, it was because she was worried about him.

In an interview with Us magazine in February, Lindsay reflected on the incident, saying, "At the end of the day, this was over summer. I was in love with this man. This was the man I was about to marry. He was my fiancé. Any doubts I had were out of love and concern, just like you would have for your partner."
