Kylian Mbappé Substituted at Halftime, Enjoys Second Half with Family in the Stands

French football sensation Kylian Mbappé experienced an unexpected halftime substitution in Paris Saint-Germain's recent match against Monaco. Despite being replaced on the field, Mbappé had the opportunity to watch the second half of the game alongside his mother in the stadium.

Kylian Mbappé, the French soccer star, was substituted at half-time during Paris Saint-Germain’s 0-0 draw against Monaco on Friday. Instead of sitting on the subs bench with his teammates, he chose to watch the rest of the game from the stands with his mother.

According to reports from Le Parisien and ESPN in February, the 25-year-old player is set to leave the club and join Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Mbappé has long been rumored to move to the Spanish team, causing tension with PSG. He even declined to extend his contract past 2024. This led to him being excluded from the club’s Japan tour last year and practicing with other sidelined players after PSG made him available for transfer.

PSG manager Luis Enrique stated after Friday's game that they will have to adjust to playing without Kylian sooner or later. He made this decision with the team's best interests in mind. The information was reported by TNT Sports, a company owned by Warner Bros Discovery, similar to CNN.

Enrique clarified that the decision to substitute Mbappé with Randal Kolo Muani was solely made by the coach, and not due to any injury to the star player. Mbappé did receive treatment on his ankle just before half-time.

Videos circulating on social media captured Mbappé strolling around the stadium in a black tracksuit, taking selfies and waving to fans while the game went on in the background.

Even though PSG only managed a draw against Monaco, they maintain a comfortable 12-point lead at the summit of Ligue 1, aiming for their tenth league title in 12 years. Their next match is scheduled for Tuesday in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Real Sociedad.
