Kylian Mbappe has communicated to PSG that he will not be extending his contract by an additional year to 2025. As of now, his contract is set to expire at the end of the 2023/24 season. In order to avoid losing the 24-year-old for nothing, PSG may consider selling him during this summer.
Ongoing talks are being held regarding a fresh contract for Mbappe at PSG. We News confirmed recently that the three-year contract signed by Mbappe last summer was structured as a two-year deal with the potential for an additional year. The added year is at the discretion of the player, giving Mbappe the choice to activate it or not.
Mbappe's current contract with PSG is set to expire soon, leaving him with the option to enter negotiations with other clubs. However, PSG was successful in convincing him to extend his contract last year, so it remains to be seen if they will be able to do so again. If Mbappe does not activate the extra year in his contract, he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-French club come January.
It is understood Mbappe is not for sale and the France captain is an integral part of PSG's long-term future strategy.
