Paris Saint-Germain has appointed Luis Enrique as their new head coach. The Spaniard has been given a two-year contract to lead the team at Parc des Princes, replacing Christophe Galtier, who was dismissed and his departure was confirmed on Wednesday morning.
In a statement to the club's official website, he expressed his joy and enthusiasm for joining Paris and embarking on a unique experience. He mentioned the excitement of meeting new individuals, immersing himself in the vibrant city, acquiring a new language, and most importantly, taking charge of PSG.

Luis Enrique was recently considered for the managerial positions at Chelsea and Tottenham. He had been unemployed since his departure from Spain in December, which came after their elimination from the World Cup against Morocco in Qatar at the last-16 stage.
The 53-year-old previously worked at Barcelona, achieving the treble in 2015. Despite the 56-year-old Galtier leading PSG to the Ligue 1 title last season, the former Roma and Celta Vigo boss now takes over.
PSG's performance dipped significantly following the conclusion of the World Cup, as they suffered 10 losses in 28 matches. Their hopes for success in the Champions League were shattered by Bayern Munich in the round of 16, and they also experienced a defeat in the French Cup against their rivals, Marseille.

Christophe Galtier left PSG after just a year in charge
Galtier has been sacked with a year remaining on the contract he signed at PSG following his appointment in July 2022.
PSG's club statement expressed gratitude toward Christophe Galtier, alongside his assistants Thierry Oleksiak and Joao Sacramento, for their dedication and professionalism throughout the season. The statement also extended well wishes for their future endeavors.
However, Galtier's departure from PSG is overshadowed by controversy. Last Friday, he received a summons to court in December to face charges related to psychological harassment and discrimination. These charges are part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of racism at his previous club, Nice.

The Frenchman and his son, John Valovic-Galtier, were both taken into custody for questioning on Friday morning. However, following further investigation, his son was eventually released without any charges. Despite denying the allegations, Galtier himself has been referred to the public prosecutor's office and is set to stand trial in Nice on December 15.Follow the summer transfer window with Sky Sports
