Kylian Mbappé had an unforgettable night on Tuesday, scoring two goals and being praised as the best player in the world. He played a crucial role in Paris Saint-Germain's advancement to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
The 25-year-old's impressive performance included a double that helped the French team secure a 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad in San Sebastián, Spain. This win gave them a 4-1 aggregate victory over the two legs of their round-of-16 matchup.
Mbappé showcased his skillset right from the start of the game. In the 15th minute, he sprinted down the left side of the pitch, outmaneuvered his defender with some swift footwork, and then smashed the ball into the bottom corner for the first goal of the night.
The force of Mbappé's strike was so great that it broke the net, creating a hole between the post and the net. The game had to be paused momentarily to fix the damaged net.
Mbappé extended PSG’s lead during the match by scoring another goal just 11 minutes into the second half, effectively sealing the victory.
The talented French player made a skillful run down the left side after receiving a well-placed pass, ultimately tricking Alejandro Remiro, the opposing team's goalkeeper.

Although Mikel Merino scored late on to give Real Sociedad some consolation, the evening was all about Mbappé and his excellent outing.
Mbappé shared his relief and happiness after PSG secured their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals. "We're really happy. That was the objective, we wanted to qualify, but we also wanted to win," he expressed. The team had a clear gameplan and was able to score early, resulting in minimal pressure throughout the match.
"I love scoring goals, it's my thing. I enjoy helping the team score and playing both offensively and defensively. Today, I think I did a good job."
After the game, Mbappé received a lot of praise for his outstanding performance. His manager, Luis Enrique, even called him the best player in the world.
"He will score 50 goals and provide 25 assists no matter the coach or team. However, he will not be available in the near future. We will need to begin testing out other teammates," Enrique explained during an interview with France's Canal+.

Mbappé is currently leading the scoring charts in the Champions League with six goals, tied with Harry Kane. Reports in February suggested that he will be leaving the club to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Erling Haaland is one goal behind with five goals. When asked who he would choose to build a team around among Mbappé, Kane, and Haaland, former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand's answer was clear and strong.
"Sorry Mbappé, I really am. All three players are exceptional. There's no right or wrong choice here, but... Mbappé, wow," he expressed on TNT Sports.
"I would happily pay to watch him train every day, let alone play in a match because he is a game-changer. I could pass him the ball at left-back and he might score. Anywhere on the field, he has the ability to create something out of nothing. The other two players are fantastic too, no doubt about it."
Mbappé has a special quality that makes me really excited and grateful. Former teammate Owen Hargreaves also believes in Mbappé's greatness, comparing him to legends like Thierry Henry and Ronaldo Nazario.
Hargreaves also predicted that Mbappé, who has already won the World Cup with France and is PSG’s all-time leading goalscorer, will win a Ballon d’Or in his career.
