Katie “KT” Smith addressed ex Morgan Wallen's recent arrest for allegedly throwing a chair off a balcony. Smith told The Daily Beast on Monday, April 8, that she does not believe the incident is related to their recent marriage announcement. She stated, "I have no evidence to believe the incident had anything to do with the recent marriage announcement." Smith expressed her hope for Wallen, saying, "I cannot speak on Morgan’s behalf, but I do pray the very best for him. Praying that this was just a slip up and that he will return to the good path that he was on prior."

Smith was responding to rumors that Wallen's recent legal trouble was connected to her announcement of her marriage on April 5th. Smith and Luke Scornavacco got married shortly after announcing their engagement.

In late March, Wallen shared photos of the sweet proposal on Instagram, expressing her belief in enjoying good things without delay. The pictures also included their 3-year-old son Indigo.

On Monday, it was confirmed that Morgan Wallen, who is 30 years old, was arrested and charged with three felony counts. These charges include reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

Wallen's lawyer, Worrick Robinson, shared in a statement to Us that the arrest took place in downtown Nashville at 10:53 p.m. on Sunday evening. Despite the charges, Wallen is fully cooperating with the authorities.

Earlier in the day, a video of Wallen sitting in a police car outside Eric Church's Chief's Bar in downtown Music City circulated online. It was reported that the Voice alum had supposedly thrown a chair over a balcony.

The Metro Nashville PD confirmed on Monday that officers were present outside the bar when a chair fell from above, landing near where they were standing. Bar staff stated that Wallen had allegedly thrown the chair from a height of six stories, as reported by News Channel 5 Nashville.

Wallen is set to appear in court on May 3 with a bond of $15,250.

Smith and Wallen were in a relationship from 2017 to 2019. After their breakup, they had a son named Indigo in July 2020. Just two months before becoming a father, Wallen was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct in Nashville.

After meeting his newborn for the first time, Wallen expressed his commitment to making positive changes in his life.

He took to Instagram after the arrival of his son, Indigo, sharing, "Little Wilder, I feel like a new person. Ever since you were born last Friday, I look at things in a different light. It's not just about me anymore, and I'm grateful for that. This past year has been incredibly tough in many ways, but I choose to focus on the good."
