Morgan Wallen’s son, Indigo, is recovering after being bitten in the face by his mother KT Smith’s dog.

Yesterday, my dog Legend injured Indigo's face, resulting in the need for stitches," Smith shared on her Instagram Story. She explained that they had spent the previous morning at the emergency room and had been exploring their options since then. However, she expressed her reluctance to follow the common advice of putting her dog down.

Smith emphasized that Legend is not an aggressive dog and described him as an angel who can understand human emotions. She added that he craves love and affection, often pawing at people if they don't give him attention. Despite the incident, Smith highlighted Legend's qualities as a great guard dog who dutifully sleeps outside her bedroom door at night.

Smith reached out to her extensive Instagram following of nearly 400,000 individuals in search of a new home for her beloved pet, Legend, within the Nashville vicinity. Realizing that confining Legend to wearing a muzzle or resorting to more drastic measures would not be fair to him, Smith expressed her heartfelt concern for her child's potential trauma and her inability to provide a nurturing environment for both her child and the dog.

Smith emphasized the importance of finding a loving and attentive home for her dog, expressing that she prioritizes her child's well-being above all else. In a subsequent Instagram Story post, she addressed the criticism she received from fans regarding her decision. Responding to a user who accused her of caring more about her dog than her child, Smith explained that being a mother means putting her child's needs first, and that finding a separate home for the dog allows both the child and the dog to thrive in environments that are best suited for them.

Smith stated, "Everyone has their own triggers in life, and it's no different with dogs. Just like humans, they also have to work through those triggers." She then provided an update on her son's condition, assuring that Indigo is doing fine. She mentioned that although he had stitches, his scar will be minimal and he will be fine.

Smith revealed on Monday that she had entrusted Legend to a loving family on a farm, where he can thrive and live his best life.

Smith and Wallen became parents to their son in July 2020, a year after their separation. Sharing hospital photos on Instagram, Smith expressed her pure happiness, referring to her newborn son Indie Wilder as her answered prayer and the most adorable little human she has ever seen.

In an Instagram post, Wallen expressed his heartfelt emotions about becoming a father for the first time. He acknowledged that the experience has transformed him into a better person, especially after going through a series of controversies. Holding Indigo in his arms, he shared, "I am committed to being the best dad you deserve, and I will also strive to be a supportive co-parent to your mother. Every decision I make from now on will revolve around you. I promise to always protect you and be a positive role model, just like my own father was for me."

He acknowledged his mistakes and expressed remorse for his actions, vowing to do better and learn from the experience. Wallen has been working on personal growth and self-reflection since then, hoping to regain the trust and support of his fans and the music industry.

"I was in the company of some of my friends, and we would often engage in foolish banter," he explained in July 2021. "In our minds, it was all in good fun, although I recognize now that it was ignorant and wrong."

In a previous incident this year, the artist behind "Chasin' You" faced backlash for canceling a concert just moments before it was scheduled to begin. He later took to Instagram to clarify that he had lost his voice and was physically unable to perform. Following medical advice, he made the difficult decision to cancel six weeks' worth of shows due to vocal cord damage and a torn leg muscle.

Wallen announced on June 6 that he was cleared to sing again but didn’t specify when his next performance would be.
