In the first leg of their Champions League qualifier on Wednesday night, they will be facing Swiss side Servette. Their aim is to reach the group stage of the competition just like their Old Firm rivals. Miller, a former Rangers player who had two spells at the club, anticipates that Beale's summer signings will make a strong impression in front of their home fans.
"There has been a great deal of anticipation surrounding the summer and the recruitment efforts led by Michael Beale, as well as the team's rebuilding process aimed at potentially contending for the league title. However, the start was nothing short of a nightmare," he stated in an interview with We News.
"Given the late kick-off and the presence of a synthetic pitch, it was always going to be a challenging game. Undoubtedly, the pitch played a role in the outcome, but that should not serve as an excuse for Rangers. They should have performed at a higher level."
Celtic's promising start under Brendan Rodgers will disappoint fans, while Rangers' stumble on the first day puts them in a position of playing catch-up. This, in turn, adds pressure to the team.
