Rangers have officially signed Nigerian international Cyriel Dessers from Italian club Cremonese for an undisclosed transfer fee. Dessers, who netted a total of 10 goals last season, with six of them in Serie A, was highly sought after by manager Michael Beale. With this acquisition, Dessers becomes the sixth addition to Rangers' squad this summer, committing to a four-year contract at Ibrox.
Following the signings of Abdallah Sima, Sam Lammers, Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, and Kieran Dowell, Dessers' arrival adds to Rangers' efforts in surpassing Celtic's position in the Scottish Premiership. With four international appearances for Nigeria, the 28-year-old forward has previously played for prominent clubs such as Feyenoord and FC Utrecht in the Netherlands, as well as Genk, Lokeren, and OH Leuven in Belgium.

"I am really happy, it is a big relief to finally be here," he said. "There have been some long days and some stressful days, but it is a great feeling to finally be here.
"The club's rich history, passionate fanbase, and grand stadium are impressive, but my focus lies on the present moment. After having meaningful conversations with Michael Beale, I became enthused about his vision for the team both on and off the field. I believed it would align perfectly with my own ambitions, making me delighted to be a part of this team."
Beale expressed his excitement about Cyriel's addition to the club, highlighting his extensive experience playing in Holland, Belgium, Italy, and European competitions. He emphasized the specific profile they were searching for and expressed confidence in Cyriel's ability to bring a range of qualities to the team. During their meeting, they extensively discussed how Cyriel aligns with the team's style of play and the existing forwards in the squad.
Being 28 years old, he brings not only a good age but also a strong personality and remarkable leadership skills to our team. Cyriel's relentless determination to make this transfer happen and his immense eagerness to join us here have truly impressed us.
We are delighted to welcome him and his family to Rangers, as he is an exceptional asset to our squad. I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to collaborate closely with him in the upcoming seasons.
