Leslie wasn't the perfect match for Gerry Turner, the lead of Golden Bachelor season 1. Instead, Gerry ended up getting engaged to Theresa Nist during the finale episode in November 2023 and they later got married in January.
During a conversation with Kelsey, Leslie advised, "Always keep in mind that you might not be the one. If you are, it's wonderful. If not, at least you have some protection."
After the conversation aired, some fans were upset with Leslie for making Kelsey doubt her connection with Joey, 28. One user expressed their frustration, saying Leslie's actions were unnecessary, despite coming from a place of love.
Initially, Kelsey didn't seem affected by her talk with Leslie. However, as viewers saw her spiral while Joey went on a date with Daisy Kent after they had a successful fantasy suite experience.
Kelsey expressed the importance of having a conversation before the rose ceremony. She wanted to be honest with Joey and not blindside him. She would rather leave now than have her heart broken.
To initiate the conversation, Kelsey left an ominous note for Joey saying, "We need to talk." Security camera footage captured her placing the note on his hotel room door. Joey later received the note and started to experience his own emotional turmoil.
Joey expressed his confusion upon finding a note on his door. He was taken aback by the message, "We need to talk," fearing that something had gone wrong. Despite not having any issues with the person, he was anxious about the situation unraveling.
The episode concluded with a cliffhanger, leaving fans guessing which of the three remaining contestants - Kelsey, Daisy, and Rachel Nance - would make it to the final two.
