Keke Palmer was granted a temporary restraining order against ex-boyfriend Darius Jackson last month — and now he’s speaking out.
"I have a lot on my mind that I'm not allowed to share, and honestly, I don't even want to right now," Jackson, 30, wrote in the caption of an Instagram video posted on Thursday, December 14, showing him working out at the gym. "I will say, though, that God is and will always be your greatest ally. I've entrusted my patience, timing, and entire life to him so that I can keep moving forward." The post comes one month after Palmer, 30, filed court documents alleging that Jackson had abused her multiple times during their two-year relationship. She also requested a restraining order and sole custody of their 9-month-old son, Leodis.
Palmer claimed that on November 5, Jackson trespassed into her home without her knowledge or consent, threatened her, and then physically attacked her by lunging for her neck, striking her, throwing her over the couch, and stealing her phone. She alleged that there have been multiple instances of physical violence, including the destruction of personal property such as diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing belongings into the street, preventing her from driving away by taking her car keys, and hitting her in front of their son. She further claimed that Jackson has spewed profanities about her to their son, threatened to kill himself with a gun if she left him, and engaged in harassment and other forms of physical and emotional abuse.
Palmer was awarded both a temporary restraining order and temporary sole custody of Leodis.
Although Jackson has not directly responded to the accusations, he shared a photo with his son shortly after Palmer filed for custody.
He wrote on X (formerly Twitter) alongside the photo, "I love you, son. See you soon." Additionally, on Thursday Jackson thanked "Lord Jesus" for the support of family and friends during this time, and for the love from many individuals who have reached out to him.
He concluded the post with the following words: "I feel incredibly fortunate to have repented and been baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus. But my journey is far from over – there is still so much I need to accomplish in order to find true fulfillment. Saving myself was just the first step."
During a recent episode of her podcast "Baby, This Is Keke Palmer," Palmer alluded to her encounter with Jackson, suggesting a shift in her perception of misogyny. She expressed shock at the lack of respect for women outside her family, contrasting it with the reverence her father shows her mother.
Palmer and Jackson made waves in July when Jackson criticized the revealing black dress that the actress wore to Usher’s Las Vegas concert.
“We live in a generation where a husband and father doesn't want his wife and mother of his children to display her body to please others and he's labeled a hater for it,” he wrote before deleting his account. "This is my family and my reputation. I have principles and values that I stand by. I rest my case."
One month later, Palmer clapped back with her appearance in the music video for Usher’s song “Boyfriend.”

“What time is it? Dammit, I missed the show. I’m so tired. I’m a mother after all,” Palmer said in the video before winking at the camera.
