Keke Palmer's boyfriend, Darius Jackson, criticized her choice of outfit at a recent Usher concert. Jackson expressed his disapproval on Twitter, stating, "It's the outfit though...you're a mom." Palmer, 29, was seen on stage being serenaded by Usher, 44, wearing a form-fitting black bodysuit with a see-through black polka dot cover-up.
Following the backlash, Jackson further emphasized his views, insinuating that his girlfriend's presentation was improper and suggesting that, as a mother, she should refrain from displaying her assets.
"In today's society, it seems unacceptable for a husband and father to expect his wife and the mother of his children to indulge in attention-seeking behavior. Yet, he is often criticized for having such beliefs," he expressed on Twitter. "This is my family and the image we uphold. I hold firm to my principles and convictions. I have nothing more to add."
Palmer did not respond to her partner's critique of her clothing choices. She and Jackson, who have been in a relationship since August 2021, had their first child, a son named Leodis, in February. (Palmer first shared the news of her pregnancy while hosting Saturday Night Live in December 2022.)
"Welcome to the world, baby Leo!" she joyfully exclaimed, matching the spirit of Black History Month with her newborn's name, Leodis Andrellton Jackson.
Following the arrival of their baby boy, an exclusive source revealed that Palmer was filled with pure bliss, embracing her new journey as a mother.
"Leo has a vibrant personality that keeps Keke and Darius constantly engaged," the source mentioned. "The challenging nights have been difficult, but Darius has been incredibly supportive, and Leo brings immense joy."
Nevertheless, motherhood proved to have its challenges for the former Nickelodeon star. In June, Palmer encountered her first hurdle as a new mother when she alleged that TSA threatened to dispose of her breast milk during her travels at the Houston airport.
"I was extremely upset by the act of discriminating against breast milk at the Houston airport. In that moment, I regretted not expressing my milk openly, as the convenience and privacy of pumping were completely disregarded with the unfounded threat of disposing of over 16 ounces of nourishment for my child?!?!!! How is this not considered a criminal offense?!" she expressed on Twitter. "I am a mother, for heaven's sake."
