Vice President Kamala Harris revealed the secret behind her fabulous hairstyle with the help of Keke Palmer. During an episode of Palmer's "Baby, This is Keke Palmer" podcast on Tuesday, June 27, Harris, 58, discussed her signature bouncy hair and disclosed how often she gets a silk press. Palmer, 29, inquired about this technique, which involves using a blow dryer and a flat iron to achieve straight hair.
Harris, in response, made a surprising revelation that she avoids using a curling iron due to its excessive heat on her hair. Instead, she opts for a round brush, a tool that both dries and curls her strands simultaneously.
Palmer, taken aback, playfully remarked, "Tell me about this magical round brush. Your hair must be incredibly delicate, Madame VP." Harris burst into laughter, acknowledging that the process does indeed take some time.
The politician disclosed that they utilize a boar-bristle brush, noting that this technique necessitates a substantial amount of heat. Consequently, using both a curling or flat iron in conjunction with this method would result in an excessive amount of heat.
Palmer commended Harris, stating that she and Queen Latifah were evenly matched in their use of silk presses. "Girls, we need to get into that round brush," she added. (Latifah, who is 53, is renowned for maintaining a lustrous and healthy blonde hairstyle.)
Twitter users expressed their excitement about the conversation, with one person commenting, "Keke Palmer asking Kamala Harris about her silk press is the type of journalism I love!" Another social media user remarked, "Keke Palmer's question to Vice President Kamala Harris about her silk press is incredibly significant in terms of culture."
In addition to that, Palmer asked Harris another pressing question during their interview. "Now, don't hold back on this one... How frequently do you have dinner delivered from Uber Eats to the White House?" the former Scream Queens star inquired.
"For security purposes, I am unable to receive deliveries," replied Harris. "However, I do enjoy cooking. Although I don't have the opportunity to cook frequently due to time constraints, I have a genuine passion for it."
Harris expressed the significance of Sunday family dinner, mentioning that it is highly important for him to personally prepare it. This holds great value for him.
Palmer then engaged in a conversation with Harris about his music preferences, inquiring about his playlist and the music he listens to while working out.
"Ah, here we have yet another dissatisfying response. I'm currently tuned in to the news. I prefer to exercise in the early morning, as it allows me the opportunity to stay updated with current events," Harris clarified.
"Well, at least it keeps you attentive," Palmer quipped.
