Keke Palmer is embracing her role as a mom and sharing how the experience has helped her improve her confidence.
"After giving birth to my baby, I have experienced a remarkable increase in my strength and empowerment. It's a feeling that is hard to describe. I now confidently showcase my abilities and take pleasure in it," expressed Palmer, 29, during an interview with The Cut, which was published on Tuesday, July 11. "To be honest, even before having my baby, I used to be quite self-conscious." Palmer admitted that she used to exert effort in maintaining her physical appearance, always striving to look perfect.
"I always had the goal of being slim and fit in a specific way," she confessed. "However, after giving birth, my body expanded significantly, and I began noticing extra weight in unfamiliar places."
The actress, known as Nope, disclosed that her trainer advised against aiming to restore her pre-pregnancy physique. Instead, Palmer made the decision to fully accept her transformed body and prioritize her love for her newborn son.
"The baby is the one person on this earth who unquestionably loves me," she expressed to the media. "I feel immense happiness, as there is no love quite like it. When someone loves you like that, honestly, it doesn't matter how I appear."
Palmer's insightful words follow a week in which her 29-year-old boyfriend publicly criticized her choice of attire for an Usher concert.
“It’s all about the outfit though... it screams 'hot mom'," Jackson tweeted on July 5, accompanying a video of his girlfriend captivatingly serenaded by Usher, 44, on stage. She looked stunning in a sheer black dress layered over a sleek black bodysuit.

Following the criticism of his remarks, Jackson stood firm and elaborated on his perspective regarding the matter.
"In today's society, there are men who prefer that their wife and the mother of their children refrain from exposing their buttocks to appease others. Unfortunately, they are often labeled as haters," he conveyed on Twitter. "This is a matter concerning my own family and the image it portrays. I adhere to certain principles and values, and I consider my argument concluded."
Jackson subsequently deactivated and then reactivated his social media accounts, responding to the drama. In the aftermath of the scandal, he appeared to remove photos of Palmer from his page. In the midst of the controversy, Palmer posted a cryptic TikTok video on July 7, where she lip-synced audio from an interview she had done with Them in June. "You can't stop what's happening with me, darling. So if you're about to cause trouble, I'm ready to confront it," she declared.
On the same day, Palmer also introduced a new line of merchandise that seemed to be inspired by Jackson's statement. "One thing remains certain and true, I AM A MOTHER, through and through!" she tweeted at the time. "'I AM A MOTHER' and 'Stevie to the bulls**t' shirts now available!"
