Katy Perry is celebrating the final show of her Las Vegas residency, titled Play, with her best friend — daughter Daisy Dove.
During the closing night concert on Saturday, November 4, Perry, 39, expressed her deep affection for her 3-year-old daughter Daisy, who was dressed as Minnie Mouse, through a fan-recorded video. "Daisy! I have an immense love for you," Perry exclaimed. "You are my closest companion, and I am incredibly grateful that you are here."
Furthermore, the renowned singer of "California Gurls" extended her gratitude to everyone involved in making the show happen, including her devoted fans, supportive friends, and her daughter Daisy Dove, who she shares with her fiancé Orlando Bloom.
Perry revealed on stage that the inspiration for this show came after the birth of her daughter, Daisy Dove. The moment she met her, Perry felt an overwhelming surge of love that had been missing in her life. Her daughter brought her a sense of completeness, healing, and taught her how to rediscover joy. This show is dedicated to capturing the innocence and wonder of everyone's inner child. Perry also took a moment to acknowledge Bloom, 46, who delighted fans as he danced with their daughter during her performance of the popular 2017 song "Chained to the Rhythm."
Perry expressed gratitude to her partner, Orlando, for being a remarkable source of support and an exceptional father during the show. In March 2020, the American Idol judge revealed her pregnancy in her music video "Never Worn White," where she affectionately touched her baby bump. Perry and Bloom then welcomed their first child in August 2020. Notably, Bloom also has a 12-year-old son named Flynn from his previous marriage to Miranda Kerr.
Perry has openly discussed how motherhood has had a significant impact on her life since the birth of her daughter.
In September 2020, she took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to address a common misconception about motherhood. Perry emphasized that being a mom is not just a part-time responsibility but a full-time job. When a mother eventually returns to her profession, it should be understood that she is transitioning from one full-time role to another. Perry humorously added that people should take the time to express their love and appreciation to their own mothers and actively support paid family leave. She concluded by expressing her love for her job.
During her appearance on the “Life Will Be the Death of Me With Chelsea Handler” podcast in May 2022, Perry discussed how her perception of success has evolved over time.
In her explanation, the pop star shared that in her 20s, success was heavily influenced by material possessions and ego-driven ambitions. However, as she entered her 30s, Perry found herself caring less about these external markers and instead began cultivating a sense of inner confidence. This shift continued to evolve with motherhood, where her definition of success became centered around her daughter Daisy's happiness. Finding joy in Daisy's well-being became the true measure of success for Perry, leading her to let go of things she once considered important but ultimately weren't. As a result, Perry no longer has time for unnecessary drama or negative energy that doesn't contribute to the well-being of her family, as they have become her top priority.
