Peppa Pig’s 20th anniversary special is set to be a star-studded affair.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been confirmed to participate in the 2024 anniversary special of the British children's series. The special will be aired on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in the United States. Peppa, voiced by Amelie Bea Smith, will be assisting Mr. Bull and Ms. Cow in their wedding preparations in this three-part event.
On October 2, it was revealed that Bloom, aged 46, will be part of the special's cast as Mr. Raccoon. The show shared the exciting news on their official Instagram page, expressing their enthusiasm for Bloom joining the Peppa Pig family.
Prior to this, it was announced that Perry, aged 38, had been selected to play the new character, Ms. Leopard. In a press release on Wednesday, September 27, Hasbro Entertainment president Olivier Dumont expressed great excitement about having such a high-profile talent joining the fun-filled adventures in Peppa Pig. Dumont mentioned that Katy Perry, being a caring parent and a fan of Peppa, was the perfect choice to voice the character of Ms. Leopard.
The social media announcements emphasized that all casting and filming for the roles had been completed before the strikes by SAG-AFTRA and WGA. These announcements also made it clear that the casting process adhered to the rules and regulations set by SAG-AFTRA. While the SAG-AFTRA strike is still ongoing, the WGA resolved their strike with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on September 26, after a duration of almost 5 months.

The upcoming special will mark the couple's second on-screen appearance together after their previous roles as future versions of themselves in a 2021 ad titled "Transmissions from the Future." This advertisement successfully raised awareness for the For the People Act, a comprehensive legislation aimed at expanding voter rights and addressing various issues across the United States.
Perry and Bloom, who have a daughter named Daisy Dove together, became engaged in February 2019 after dating for almost three years. In March of the following year, Perry revealed in the music video for her song "Never Worn White" that she was expecting her first child with Bloom. Their daughter was born in August 2020. Additionally, Bloom has a son named Flynn, who is 12 years old, from his previous marriage to Miranda Kerr.
Although Perry and Bloom are not taking measures to prevent having more children, a source informed We magazine in October 2022 that they are not actively trying for another child. This is because Perry does not want to be pregnant when walking down the aisle.
Currently, Perry is primarily focused on being an actively involved mother to Daisy. According to a source, the American Idol judge prefers to spend as much time as possible with her daughter and is hesitant to leave her with the nanny for extended periods.
On Wednesday, Perry and Bloom commenced their legal battle against Carl Westcott in a non-jury real estate trial. Westcott alleged that he sold the couple their $15 million mansion while under the influence of painkillers. Despite Westcott having a change of heart upon realizing his intoxication, Perry and Bloom sent him a letter expressing their determination to proceed with the purchase and not back out.
