JuJutsu Kaisen and One Piece Reign Supreme in the US Comic Market

Jujutsu Kaisen and One Piece dominate the US comics market, securing the top two spots in BookScan's Top 20 adult graphic novels

Circana recently unveiled the top 20 adult graphic novels, with Eiichiro Oda's One Piece and Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen ranking as the top two. Among the list of 20 graphic novels and comics, a total of 16 manga volumes emerged as the best-selling items in the US comics market.

Formerly known as NPD BookScan, Circana Books was established after NPD Group merged with Information Resources. The company gathers weekly point-of-sale data on print books from more than 16,000 locations, allowing Circana BookScan to cover around 85% of the U.S. trade print book market. These rankings are determined based on piece sales.

On December 1, Circana Books unveiled the top 20 adult graphic novels and comic books for November 2023. Sixteen out of the 20 books were manga. Notably, Eiichiro Oda's One Piece volume 104 and Gege Akutami's JJK volume 21 secured the top two spots.

#11 - Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen volume 0

#13 - Shinichi Fukuda's My Dress-Up Darling volume 10

#14 - Koyoharu Gotouge's Demon Slayer volume 1

One must note that Gege Akutami's series has four volumes on the list. Meanwhile, One Piece only has two volumes on the list.
