During an appearance on the "Almost Famous" podcast on Wednesday, April 24, John Henry, 31, explained that he had initially planned to focus on his career as a commercial diver for 10 years before seeking love. However, his relationship with Kat, 27, changed his plans.

John Henry explained to her that his career is not conducive to a relationship at the moment, but he intends to change that in the future. He mentioned how he has moved around a lot for work.

Kat, who works as a travel nurse, initially relocated to North Carolina to be near John Henry, even though her ultimate goal was to live in San Diego.

"Everything was going smoothly. I landed a new job and then entered into a relationship. Suddenly, I realized that I needed to start planning for the future, figuring out how to transition into a career that would be more compatible for both me and my partner," he remembered. "It took me by surprise, and now I'm feeling the pressure of making this change."

John Henry Spurlock was in a phase of uncertainty about the future with Kat Izzo. He confessed, "I began to have doubts and noticed our differences more clearly. It became increasingly challenging for me."

The former couple announced their breakup days after the BiP finale aired but they actually called off their engagement days before the show.

"Kat is truly amazing. She has a special quality that sets her apart. Even though she's not my longest relationship, I must say, Kat is quite a catch. I have to admit, she really put in the effort," he exclaimed. "Long distance can be tough for anyone. When Kat loves, she gives it her all. She went above and beyond to try to make our relationship work."
