Joey Graziadei's Confidence Level Before Hometowns on 'The Bachelor' Revealed

Discover how Joey Graziadei expressed his uncertainty about the success of his season as he approached hometowns on 'The Bachelor'.

Joey Graziadei was hopeful for his season of The Bachelor, but he wasn’t completely confident as he headed into hometowns.

During an episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast on February 29, Joey, 28, revealed, “At this point, going into hometowns, I was probably 70/30 [or] 80/20 [percent confident it would work]. I could see the relationships were progressing, but we hadn’t reached the point of anyone professing love or expressing genuine feelings and a shared future."

Joey has four contestants remaining heading into hometown dates: Daisy Kent, Kelsey Anderson, Maria Georgas and Rachel Nance. Each woman will introduce the tennis pro to their families during the Monday, March 4, episode.

He continued, “Those conversations come later on and during it, I think that what you’re feeling is, ‘Is it going to keep progressing?’ Because it is right now but, ‘Is it going to get there?’ So there’s always going to be that 20 to 30 percent doubt until you know someone feels the same way that you might feel.”

Joey took note during hometown visits to ask questions to his contestant’s family members and refrain from making quick judgments if he sensed something was amiss.

He emphasized the importance of delving deeper into any potential issues, stating, “There are various factors and dynamics that could impact the outcome. If I sensed any resistance from a family member, I would seek to understand their perspective by asking more questions. It is crucial to grasp the situation fully rather than simply reacting to their emotions.”

Joey reflected on his experience during Charity Lawson's season 20 of The Bachelorette, admitting that he had learned not to judge solely based on hometown visits. His own trip home did not go smoothly, leading to doubts from Uncle Joe about his relationship with Charity, who was 28 at the time.

Sharing his perspective, Joey explained that his uncle's skepticism stemmed from a place of protection and concern for his well-being. He understood that Uncle Joe wanted to ensure he was making the right choice in a potential life partner, especially since it could be the last time he would see that person if they ended up together.

"He continued, expressing that while the intentions were present, he was slightly rough around the edges in his approach. He acknowledged that other family members may also exhibit similar behavior."

"The Bachelor is broadcasted on ABC on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET."
