Jesse Solomon Doctor Thought Cancer Was Nothing

Summer House newbie Jesse Solomon shared on a recent episode of the Bravo show that he has overcome cancer twice. Now, he is opening up about his initial diagnosis.

At 31 years old, Solomon explained that he initially felt a slight pain in his testicle. Despite not thinking much of it, he decided to see a doctor who recommended getting an ultrasound.

Solomon initially thought he had chlamydia, but a 2017 ultrasound showed he had testicular cancer. The doctor informed him that the next step would likely be removing the testicle to confirm the diagnosis, which came as a shock to the Bravo star.

Solomon vividly remembered the difficult surgery to remove his testicle, describing it as feeling like "piranhas jumping around in your stomach while getting kicked in the nuts by a small child."

Almost a year later, Solomon's doctor discovered cancer in his lymph nodes, indicating that he had stage 2 testicular cancer. He then underwent four rounds of chemotherapy from July to September 2018.

Solomon shared with Today that he felt sick constantly and wasn't doing well. He experienced hair loss, including his eyebrows, tingling in his fingers and toes, and ringing in his ears.

Joining Bravo's Summer House in season 8, which aired last month, Solomon aimed to bring attention to testicular cancer through his participation on the show.

Solomon believed that sharing his story could be beneficial to others. He mentioned that many individuals have a loved one facing a similar situation, whether it be cancer or another illness.

Reflecting on his past, Solomon confessed that he didn't pay much attention to the possibility of cancer before he was diagnosed.

"I used to think that I was leading a healthy lifestyle and that cancer wouldn't happen to me," he said. "But cancer doesn't discriminate based on who you are, your age, or your gender. It can affect anyone."

In the second episode of Summer House season 8, Solomon shared that he has overcome cancer twice during a group dinner. He mentioned that his five-year check-up is scheduled for August. (Summer House season 8 was filmed in the summer of 2023, and his check-up will be shown on the show.)

Solomon shared with Today that it is important for men to schedule regular physical exams to stay on top of their health. By catching any issues early on, they can take necessary steps for treatment. This message may inspire others to prioritize their health and get checked regularly.
