Jeannie Mai and her daughter Monaco got into the holiday spirit as they celebrated Thanksgiving together, following the news of Mai's estranged husband Jeezy filing for divorce. Mai, 44, shared a heartwarming Instagram video on Thursday, November 23, in which she and 22-month-old Monaco are seen preparing a turkey together. In the caption, Mai extends Thanksgiving wishes to everyone.
Mai and Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, welcomed Monaco in January 2022. Mai celebrated the holiday with their daughter while Jeezy, 46, stayed off social media on Thursday and kept his Thanksgiving plans private. This is not the first time Mai has shared moments with her baby girl since her split from Jeezy. In a recent interview on Sherri Shepherd’s Sherri, she referred to Monaco as her "North Star."

"I don't know if I could handle being a mother and navigating through my divorce without her," Mai said. "When I look at her, I can imagine what advice I would give her if she were in my situation, and it really changes everything."
Mai also expressed her gratitude for having Monaco in her life.
Mai and Jeezy were married for two years before the rapper filed for divorce on September 14, as confirmed. In court documents filed in Georgia in June, Jeezy claimed that their marriage was irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation, and that they were currently living in a state of separation. According to the documents, the former couple had signed a prenup before their March 2021 wedding.
Regarding their daughter, Jeezy is requesting joint physical and legal custody of Monaco, both on a temporary and permanent basis. The documents specified that the court will determine the final decision based on the child's best interests. (Jeezy also has three children from previous relationships.) Jeezy provided further details about the breakup in a recent interview with Nia Long, describing it as a challenging journey.
“I can express my deep sadness. I can express my profound disappointment. I can express my uneasiness,” Jeezy said in the YouTube video, which was uploaded on November 8. “But God has set me on a new journey, and that journey will require me to prioritize my well-being, love myself, and strive to be in the best possible situation despite all the challenges I’ve faced.”
